  1. I plan on running down that gold 55. 301 vs 301. I should have the weight advantage:D

Now I'm glad I bought that minibike.

Hey HAMBers, join us for the Dragdoc/Truckdude post race BBQ. More details on the Chrome Czar board. It is THE social event of the nostalgic drag race season.

This years heads up was definitely worth watching and next year I will bring my car. I felt that there weren't a lot of people there, and to me that means alot of people missed out on a quality show.

drag events rarely get the turn out that the "normal" car shows get......I am not sure why.......
there were a LOT more cars there this year compared to 2010.

Weather being a factor I am sure.

.....and perhaps because the Cheaters were in the house this year........

    ha

Great seeing everyone there and hope that next year is not on the same weekend as the 6th Annual S**** Drive in Belvidere IL (a lot of the cars that were at S**** Drive told me they had to choose between the 2 and would have gone to Heads Up if it were on a different date) I know the Boone County Fairgrounds have stuff going on there every weekend and it is hard for the Tin Butchers to get another date.

After talking to some of the people that work at Great Lakes Dragway.....I think the people at Union Grove would be happy with ANY dates the Czars chose. That being said - it is hard to figure out what shows to not step on.......
no one is going to go up against Back to the 50s on Fathers day weekend.
Whatever happens I will try to be there fer sure!

    Cause it is a blast!

Did anyone else see El Bizaro?

I did not catch the other mini bike racers name..........

    those guys were insane!

Thanks to everyone who helped to put this on,
    we had a great time.
The look on my daughter's face after making her first p*** ever
down a drag strip. She is definitely hooked. She was the one in yellow
on the minibike. If any of you have pictures of that p*** I would
    like to see it.

    thanks again.

Had alot of fun this year. I made it to round 4 of eliminations, and despite traction problems I was able to pull off a 14.8@90 with the unibody.

We had a great time at the Grove and are looking forward to the Meltdown and the Run Watcha Brung at Cordova on Aug 6th.
We felt pretty good about the weekend and had a blast hitting the track for the first time in the "High Life" we know it has more I just need to figure out how to drive it and I should be able to shave a bit more time off. See ya at the Meltdown.
Thanks to the Czars for putting on the event and thanks to the Blacktop Barons for the Saturday night hospitality.

Thanks to everyone who came out! I haven't seen the numbers yet, but I think we had more cars racing than last year, and a lot of cars I had never seen before. The Fugitives did a fantastic job helping the Chrome Czars promote the show this year, so go to the Meltdown on July 23 at Byron!!

I think it's safe to say that the Fugitives have the fast cars, and the Czars have the slow cars. :) For now. :D

The van ran a 16.32 on my first ever racing p*** and I got eliminated. I think it would've done a lot better, but I let off the gas after shifting into 3rd and it got squirrelly. Not too bad.

On my 2nd p***, the wheels hopped and I didn't let off like I did on the 1st p*** and the puny drive shaft twisted about 4 times and then snapped. :( At least it wasn't "serious" :D I'll have it at the Meltdown, but I may have to go easy on it until I can get a new beefier trans yoke so I can have a beefier driveshaft
