Since it's almost a week away, I thought I'd see who's going? Where will you be and what are you bringing?

Krooser....will you be in your usual place? And will you be bringing any flathead stuff? Do I need a trailer?

I will be there for the 30th year in a row. In the camp ground spaces D29 & E29, not selling anything just having a good time with my son and some friends. Brian

can't wait...I'll be out there friday looking for some 58-64 chevy parts.

 

I will be there Saturday, looking for parts for 62 Falcon, 52 Buick, 49 merc, 46 chev, 48 Ford, dear god where will i find the money?

I guess it is coming right up, when I think about it. How is it Iola time already?

I haven't missed one since I was 12 years old so I'm sure I'll be there. I don't think I'm even going to fuck around with the car corral this year, doesn't seem like anyone's buying anything. What I'd like to do is bring a car to put in the show (been going for 15 years and never parked in the show before) and search for deals.

Would be nice if Iola was a relaxing bargain hunt instead of a frantic thrash to get a car ready to sell.

 

i have to work,,,damn!,,,,,i should write a grocery list of parts,,,and post up,,,,maybe it'll be like writing santa & everything I wished for will be delivered to my garage....

 

Which day is the best day to go? Is set up day open to the public?

thursday
thats the day that the venders go out and scoop up all the rare,cool,cheap,desired,and or stuff they need
friday is a good day to see the rare,cool,not so cheap and desirable parts that the venders are trying to resell
and saturday is the day that all the guys bring their wives out and the venders don't sell shit
this is what i have learned in my 23 years....
so go on thursday, and be one of the hunters like me

Right On, Thursday is the best day to go, Fridays not bad ....Sat to many "I'm a car car guy kinda " I just do this to get out of the house types...And Sunday sucks 1/2 the vendors are gone and the other 1/2 are packing up ! In 25 years, I have never missed a year . Why start now .

 

i will be there with my '57 and a few cars from the area, a few rare AMC's too.

 

i think me my old man and the stichbitch will be there thrusday and friday.

I'll be there Thur. and Fri. looking for a rear fender for my 37. I usually go myself the first two days looking for treasure. Then Saturday my buddies from G.B. come out and we look at the cars and drink beer!

 

I'll be there on Friday/Saturday. Selling a 54 Packard and a 79 Camaro in the auction. Hope to find a buy or two in the auction or the car corral. Bob

 

I could not get off work this year. As of today it looks like I will be working on that saturday too. So I will probably be out this year.

 

I will be there Friday & Saturday. Looking for Maverick 8" for my 50 shoebox & flathead parts.

I will be there with my Dad on Thursday. Kind of a yearly "reunion". The "swaps" around here are nothing like Iola. Hope to run into some "Hambers".

I will be there as a spectator with my wife and dad on saturday. I only missed one Iola in the last 27 years of going due to a local garage auction. I won't miss this one for sure because it probably will be my dads last one due to fast deterioting health and he still wants to go. He also just sold the house up there and we need to have everything out by Aug. 17, so I will be camping there after this if I go back up, but if I do then I will make it for the whole weekend.

 

I'm leaving wed afternoon to get up there. I'll be driving this.

 

I'll be going on Thursday.I've never tried going on a Thursday before and after 26 yrs it might be fun to try something different.I'll return on Saturday w/ my fiance and my '49.PAUL

 

Leaving Wed morning at 7 am. Should be there by 9 am and then wait 6 hrs in the holding area. That's where the deals are. I'll be in spots BM13-14, right next to Cliffy and my bro Rob Paul.

 

Friday is my day this year. Finally have both a list of stuff to buy and some cash to buy said stuff with. Usually those two things never align at Iola. See you all there!

If anyone going to Iola swap is willing to pick up and Greyhound ship a couple of pre-paid doors for me, drop me a PM. I'd pay you for your time.
I'm looking to buy the doors from a guy that won't ship (pick up only), however he can bring them along to Iola for pick up. Problem is that I'm in CA.

I probably could do that for you. I am actually in the process of having a box made up to ship to a guy in Arizona to ship my door back in. Probably would want to do the same for you.

Can't say it will happen overnight...I have a very busy life...but if you don't mind waiting up to a few weeks or so, then I could probably do it.

I'll probably be up there either Friday or Saturday. Not looking for anything special...so won't be a big deal if I miss something the the first day.
