Joe Tully car[late 50,s] Joe was a car mechanic in Dixon Ill ......he later had his own shop . Joe passed away several years ago . He put a high rise manifold/holly carb on my 63 Vette during a visit to town around 1967..I had never the opportunity or nerve to speak to him before ..Joe was a nice guy and I regret this was the only time I spoke to him. Unless this car was wrecked, I believe the car may still be around the N.ILL /IOWA, WISCONSIN area.......have you seen this car??

 

Flash forward 5 years......

 

1928 special coupe

 

My coupe. Usual stuff. Chopped, filled roof, channeled, sectioned deuce grill, 327, 9", TH350.

 

Are these Real Rodder wheels?

 

They are American Rebel wheels which are rumored to make the Real Rodder wheels.

I know Pat O'Brien who owns Real Rodder and he says that he and Vince Vaughn make the wheels, I'll have to ask where. Matter of fact Vince just made two sets of 15x15 for me and now he's making a set for my '57 Nomad and '66 Corvette, 427 and flared. So, yeah I have a connection.

 

Real Rodder Wheels are available from Speedway now.

 

22t, that is a sweet looking coupe, what color orange is that?

 

I think the definition of "make" is kinda vague. I know Rebel casts their own wheels and machine them to order (which is why pretty much any bolt pattern can be had). Whether or not the rumor is true really doesn't matter to me..... I've seen RR and own AR and there isn't enough difference in appearance to quibble over.

It is now on the road with the 427, 4sp, it is "spirited" plus. Some details are not HAMB friendly but driving it is pure joy.

 

Here is my latest addition.... 29 coupe survivor... unrestored with only 1 repaint in its life..... banger needs some hopping up and steering rebuilt, but it runs and drives decent...... Had to rewire it cause someone at some point went to the ray charles school of wiring.....

Finally part of the cool kids club with a coupe......or something like that....
