So, I'm curious to see how many custom Packards are out there and how many are in the works.

I picked this one up a few months ago to be my daily driver. It's a 1953 Clipper with an Oldsmobile 330 in it that I had to rebuild after I drove her home. Rebuilt the whole top end, added an edelbrock intake and painted the motor and a few other odds and ends.

Next on the agenda is getting the wipers to work and getting new tires so it can be insured. Then I'll see about getting her closer to the ground. Here are some before and after pics.

    Let's see YOURS!!!! :D

Here's mine. 4 door to 2 door conversion, chopped 5 3/4" front around 9" in back, 50 Buick tailights and a healthy lowering

Here's my two, the supercharged '56 Patrician, and my "1925 Packard Speedster", built on a 1937 Packard 115c chassis with a 1953 Packard 327 9 main engine, '53 Clipper manual trans with '37 floor shift conversion, stock '37 Packard 115c front and rear suspension, and I'm working on twin turbochargers. I need to find someone in the Wichita area who can give me a hand on the headers to mount the turbo's. I have an idea on how to run them, but not the experience to build them.

I have a 54 limo and a 28 Towncar. The limo has complete 75 Caddy running gear 500 inch engine front and rear suspension. The steering column is a tilt telescopic but the steering wheel was resplined to fit the caddy column.I understand there were very few of these made around 65 total.I would like any info since I am not a Packard wizard.I will post pictures this weekend. We just got these cars about a month or so ago.

Packard didn't make limo's in '56, the last year for limo's and other custom bodied cars was 1954. The Torsion Level suspension on the '55s and '56s prevented lengthening the wheelbase. The longest wheelbase in the 55's and '56s was 127", which would have been the Caribbean, Patrician, and the 400. I'd love to see some pics though!!

I have a fetish for those sexy 38-40ish Packard teardrop taillights. I put a pair in my Model A Coupe and have about 4 more pairs squirled away. Does that count?

  11. I have a '50 23rd series 4 door that'll be a 2 door someday. I'll see if I can find some pictures to post. It's a 30 year old restoration that it's very good shape but needs some attention.

I just picked up a 1941 packard 2 door touring?
definitely a 41. definitely 2 doors. definitely a 110. definitely in desperate need of help.
Hoping to make it my get around car. toyota 7mgte/5speed, nice seats, AC/heater, tilt column (if'n I can figure out how to do it). it weighs only a bit more than the cressida donor car, so should get decent enough mpg to drive it daily.

Now I just have to figure out where to find parts...

  16. Plans were to install a BBC in it about 6 years ago but she ran too well. I know she is stock and has no place on the HAMB but it is a Packard.

I have a '37 110 Henney Hearse with carved wooden windows.

Right now, it's all original, but working on plans to modernize it.

Will try and get some pics up soon.

Stuffed waaayyyy in the back of the shop right now.

I've got a more then complete 1947 Clipper in the backyard. Trying to get rid of it, don't have the time to work on it and need to get it out of my way. So I guess I'm an unwilling Packard owner ;-)

So if anyone wants a Packard, it's for sale, either whole or in pieces. It's in pretty sad shape though. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=304180

Any of you Packard guys interested in Packard magazine ads from the 20's? I know where i can get very high quality originals. I picked up some Ford, Buick and Cad ads today at a local junk shop. There are several more there with many companies represented. PM me if interested. six bucks shipped.

That's a '58 Stude- plan and simple. Now, a '58 Packard on the other hand~ is a re-badged Stude!!! (just like mine pictured below)

Packard guys hate them, most Stude guys do too...
    No worries here!!!

No car. No engine. Just a 29' Packard radiator my Dad ran on circle burnners till us kids came along. He had it hooked to a 38' 60 HP Ford Flathead. Both flathead & Packard radiator are set up for dual water pumps.

Only a 57 Clipper right now...but it is supercharged

I love the town car! Is it a '27 or '28? (I only ask because the headlights look to be '25 to '27... )

I've been lusting after a Packard lately. My ol' daddy had a '47 Clipper. I like the '51-'54. Yours is the first '53 that I've seen set up as a mild custom. Now I'm even more in lust! pigpen

The towncar is a 28 but it is not an original. My father and his friends built it in the 80s from a sedan and a roadster cowl. They built it for a buddy that wanted one.One of the friends had a buick towncar that he built the same way out of a sedan and a touring cowl so they kind of used the buick as a guide and built the Packard. It is all original 28 sheetmetal and titled as a 28 Packard. It is powered buy a 350 chevy backed buy a 350.The front suspension is econoline and the frame was stretched buy my father. He was the resident welder in the group. We had not seen this car in years and just recently found it for sale on e-bay locally and bought it.I can remember them building this when I was a kid so it has allot of value to me.It gets allot of looks that is for sure.

I had one, a '50 2 door sedan, but not any more. The floorboards and rockers were all rotted away. Away. No more.
I 'Customized' it by running a wood 2x4 from the bottom of the front fender back to the rear fender and laid plywood across so I didn't drag my feet.............
