Aw crap..... A new favorite thread!! If I could get someone to help me with my non - existant computer skills I would post some pictures of my modified going together. Actually my girlfriend called "dibs" the first time she saw it on wheels! It's very much the same as Bo Jones first car, narrowed "T" cowl, got fed up with looking for a touring body so I made my own from the cowl back, Quarter elliptic front, "T"spring rear, etc. Should be cool if I can get back to working on it.(customer stuff always comes first)

Damn, nice barn. Lotsa good stuff in there. All the barns around here just have horses.... No roadsters.

    Beautiful job Sprint4j !

  23. Thanks Buildy,
I cant take all the credit.
My dad started this in about 1999 at the age of 68 . He got side tracked with Health problems. Last year I saw that he might not get to drive it So I brought it to my place and we worked together every day for six months.
We got it finished. Just in time, We lost him in July at 78 years old.
What a thrill it was to see him drive it.
The only regret is I never got to learn how to work aluminum like he did !

Sorry about the loss of your dad.

Glad to hear you were able to get the car finished for him to drive. Easy to see he was an artist with the metal bending!

I have seen this car in person and it has to be seen to fully appreciate it.

Here is mine, it is a Speedway body that was first bought in the mid 70's and never built.

A buddy of mine found this a little way up the coast - went to pick it up Saturday, and drove the 250 miles back. Nicely surprised, it ran like a watch and the top of my head nearly fell off I was grinning so wide!!!

    Yes, I know the colour.....the wheels......the interior......
That'll all be changing really soon, but the basics are there and I finally have something running & almost HAMB worthy while the other projects get done! Not something you find everyday over here:D

  29. I was inspired by the South African TR post to list my ride.

This is a recreation of a 50s track roadster. It should be finished this month (nov 09). The nose was inspired by the Maserati Wilber Shaw drove to victory at Indy in '39 and '40. It has quite a few vintage parts and except for the lighting and windshield is pretty faithful to the '50s era. A major concession to everyday use is the conversion of the mechanical Hilborn FI to EFI. The engine is a D500 early Dodge Hemi.

There is a detailed HAMB build thread at:
