last night i swapped fuel pumps in my buick and i had the old pump in the vise to remove a fitting, well i bumped the actuating arm and took a money shot of fuel to the left eye....good stuff!! ;)
after about ten minutes of flushing it was back to work! installed the new pump swapped carbs and tuned.... then i started filling the trunk key hole... i had to open the hole up a bit and i ended up smacking myself in the face with the file busting my lip wide open! so after last night i looked like i was in a terrible bar fight!

and this is what i've been up to today!!!:D

it all started with me putting the lawnmower in the garage and cleaning the dust off of it..... that got me thinking about the stock, stupid looking, restricting muffler... then it all went crazy from there. i had a beat up motorcycle pipe laying in the "parts bin" and after some cutting and welding, trimming and welding some more, my mower now has a side pipe!! oh and i found some lace laying around the house so i fogged a quickie lace job on the hood and fenders... and added a 3 spoke steering wheel to top it all off....

its completely off topic but it was fun, and it gave me some practice welding exhaust pipe, as well as pisses off my neighbors!!! haha, anyway here are the pics, what did you guys do this weekend??!!!

I cleaned all my seats to be ready for Pistons & Paint next Sat. White interior looks so cool but is hell to keep clean when you work in a garage and drive your car alot. Sat I removed my donor 700R4 Trans from the wrecked van it was in. Gonna get the trans sent off Mon to the rebuilders.

Pulled the front hubs off my 38 Buick put grade 8 bolts in through the back so I can use lug nuts not lug bolts, going to do the back when I pull the axles out. Lowered the car last weekend now the rear axle don't set even in car so I put on a adjustable panhard bar for a 58 - 64 Chevy, fits like it was made for the Buick.

  6. Got the race car all striped down to a bare chassis to make some repairs and get it repowdercoated, I'm determined to not be putting it together the week before we go racing (I'm gonna fail miserably on that goal,,, as always)

    Before dissasembly

Sammamishsam and I picked up this running 1956 Chrysler New Yorker (Newport). Been sitting a while, got it running, and drove it up on the trailer.

This will be my first Hemi!!

    This weekend.
I managed to clean the garage. Organized the clutter. Installed a TV for shop viewing.
    Hooked up the fridge.
Then started to disassemble the 37 frame for sand blasting.
I see the frame boxed and cleaned up by next weekend.

When we moved into our house I hated our mailbox, and knew that it had to go. Mailman always folded my magazines in half to make them fit in the letter sized box. SO I decided I would get a new one. About a year ago I decided what I was going to replace it with, and I just this weekend got off my lazy ass and made it happen.

I had this old "jerry can" laying around it fell in love with it for a mail box.

    Installed:

It is hinged on the back with a trap door cut out of it so I can simply swing it open and get the mail out of it.

I need to have lil' toot come over and do some stripe work on it to finish it off.

mailman is pretty cool, hopefully he will not give me any shit about it not being "approved"!

  17. Thanks sawzall- next time I'm up north, I'll have to get together with some of you PA HAMBers (I grew up in Narberth)!

I moved the Model A out of the garage and took it around the block to blow the cobwebs out of it and noticed a small drip of water. Did a little checking and found a pinhole leak in a freezout plug (behind the motor mount of course). Spent the rest of the weekend screwing around fixing that. Never did get to do what I intended to do this weekend, which was make some new motor mounts for the T.

Nothing. Made a shit pot full of money this weekend... Been on 7-12's for about a month now. I guess Santa Clause will be happy this year. We are supposed to be on this till the first of the year. No work in the garage sucks. Should have plenty of jack for the projects when this shit is over.

The wife and I drove 7.5 hours to northern Chicago to pick a Model A pickup bed for our truck project. Stopped at a Cracker Barrel on the way back for dinner and locked the frick'n keys in the truck!

Went to the first one of a new monthly swapmeet today. And brought home this new toy. Did I really need one ?? Well no but I've been wanting one SO!! Also has the add on for doing disks, and every adapter shown in the parts list. Works tits ! Been a expensive tool week , a sine plate and a set of Jo blocks to go with it and a set of keyway broaches. Now I need a shoe grinder/arcer to go with.
