I graduated high school in 2000, was a working stiff until this past Jan when I dicided to quite working for the man and go back to school. Being the long time car freak that I am I decided to go to paint and body school. I just finished my fist semester last Thursday. I only have four more semesters left but am already tired of being broke and not having any time to work on my projects. But I guess it isn't so bad, I will be done at the end of next summer and will open my shop and be on my way to the Kustom Car Builder Hall Of Fame(hehehe...well...maybe?)
Going to college at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Univ. Going to get a bachelors in aeronautical science and graduate with a commercial pilots license. I have finished my first year here and am currently working on getting my multi engine rating. There is nothing like being in command of 2 360 cubic inch, 4 cylinder, 180 horsepower engines. Just kinda shoves you back in the seat.
Those twins are not bad, if you can't get Uncle Sugar to pop for a T-38 with a couple of J-85s, or better yet, an F-16..... now THAT will push you back in the seat..... But I sure did have fun flying with my dad in his Aztec this weekend....
I got my undergrad in Chemistry from THE Pennsylvania State University, and am now back at school at Florida State in a doctoral track for ****ytical chemistry. In a few months I will finally have a garage and can start doing real work on my '58 again. -Duck
I've got a few semesters to go till I can transfer to the UofA (planning on engineering). I took two cl***es last semester and am going to push for more in the next one. Just took a College algebra final, failed all my previous tests, aced the final and managed a C for the cl***. Not what I was hoping for but it'll do.

Keep it up its not for everyone but it will be worth it in the long haul no matter what anyone says. believe in yourself.. -Bigdaddy
im gonna be a senior at the university of dayton next fall. Mechanical engineering. one more year left.
Since HS graduation in 2000 I have pumped out two business degrees, spent time as a tech at a GM dealer, got a certificate in auto body and collision repair and certified in high efficency painting from Penn College - In addition to refinishing 3 cars at home. Currently looking for some good employment, fortunately I have no college loans. Thank god for part time employment!
I graduated from U of A in December 2000 after going for ten years. I was working a full time job during the day, radio DJ at night and on fridays was a track anouncer at the drag strip on fridays. I started my first car the model A coupe while I was in school. Do not ever give up on education. A really close friend once told me what else do you have todo that cannot be done after you finish school. You have your whole life to build cars. He also said its like a giant **** sandwich and everyday you take a bite and one day you are licking the plate that's graduation. Good luck in your studies.
Glad to see this post going on with hearing what everyone's doing (or HAS done) in school. Met someone at the drags, Sunday, that used to be a local, he was wearing a UTI shirt, we got to talking about the Universal Techinal Ins***ute in Glendale, AZ. That was Plan A for me in high school, but after my first job as a teenage mechanic for a So Cal GM dealership, I realized I had two left thumbs. Wasn't long before I became an English major at Pasadena City College, then CSU Stanislaus, then CR and Humboldt State. Hot rods will always be my second love, for now I'm trying to finish Math for the BA, then Teaching Writing @ HSU (hopefully return to that in Spring). But I can't work in TV programming forever, not with the pay I'm getting. Teaching would even pay better. Anyway, this is really cool hearing about everyone's school background. Now if I can quit working nights to take that welding cl***...
So I'm NOT the only guy who spent most of their school years doodling and drawing cars/bikes etc. I just wish I had kept all those hundreds of little doodles and all them pages of rough papers with a zillion ideas scratched on 'em When I left school the 'career officer' asked me what I wanted to do with my life: "Build prototype racing cars" said I. "Oh, you need to do an apprenticeship" said he. "Great" said I, and spent the next eleven years in a boring as **** machine shop, making zillions of ****py little m*** production widgets.
