'56 Ford Customline Victoria HT. Rust free, straight California body w/ very tired 292. I was fresh out of school with short money and no place to store or work on it. I needed a reliable transportation car for work, so had to set it free.

'67 Malibu 2-dr HT. 275 horse 327 w/ T-16 3-speed and posi. Factory buckets, console and floor shift. Bought it used from a dealer just as the '68's were coming out. Kept it 10 years but had no time to do anything with it and was driving a company car. Sold it way too cheap to a friend who flipped it.

I think I'll go cry in my pillow now....

My 1970 Dodge Charger. Started as a $200 318 automatic car. When I finished it had a 440 with headers, Edelbrock intake, 780 Holley, Direct Connection Purple stick cam, 4-speed with a Lakewood ****tershield, Dana rear and 11 inch brakes. Sold it minus the Dana, the Go Wing & the N50's and slots for $800 in 1983. I thought I needed to grow up a bit and get a regular car that was more reliable so I buy a 1 year old Cadillac Eldorado with the 4100 motor that turns out to be a bigger piece of **** than anything I've owned before or since. Man, what was I thinkin. I still miss that old Charger. OT or not.

My '66 T bird, 428, automatic, ac, disc brakes, power windows, power seats. Bought it when I was 15 for 1200. Did a brake job, parked it in the garage. Sold it when I was 20, for 4500. I miss it, alot. That car was so solid.

    One of my Mopars...

I had a '69 Charger R/T, a '69 Super Bee, and a '63 Max Wedge clone. I loved 'em all, but I think the '63 would be the one I'd want back. I street raced a LOT with that car, and I think of it often. There's a few things I'd do differently (better), but it was a solid package (440ci, 906 heads, Max Wedge cross ram, 2,800 rpm stall, 727 auto, 8-3/4 with 3.91:1s) and I only sold it because I needed a down payment on a place to live.

I'd hoped to buy it back one day, but the guy who bought it tore it apart, sold off some stuff, and kept the rest for a project he was building. So, it wasn't just gone- it was GONE. That made it hurt even worse.

A 1967 Mercury Cyclone. Beautiful silver paint, had power windows, and a factory 8-Track stereo, and center console for the automatic. Only downside was the 289 2-barrel. Had plans to change it out or go hi-po on the small block, but instead sold it at a time when I really needed the money. If I can figure out how to post pics here, I will. Beautiful car.

  17. '66 Failane GTA, bought it for $500 and sold it for $1600 4 years later, after diving the **** out of it, for the money to put down on an HD. Also my '66 Chrysler 300, but that one my first wife took when we split and then wrecked, that hurt.

All these stories make me feel better about me not being able to sell anything. Out of all the cars that I've had, I've only junked or sold a few, and they weren't worth keeping either.

Everything else, I still have. Never really gave anything up, just moved them from place to place. Up to 8 cars on the property already, and with 6.5 acres and a few barns, I have room for more.

Thanks for making me understand why I have a hard time with getting rid of anything.

1967 442 W30, if you look at the pic you'll see the air intakes in between the headlights. I bought the car 3 years ago and sold it a year later on that auction site. neat thing was I contacted the original owner through the paperwork I had. He sent me this pic of when it was new. Also sent me both original window stickers. Car ended up being one of 8 left with an auto trans. and probably the most original. Was drag raced for a couple of seasons in Washington State. Can't complain too much though, went for 58k, I paid way less than half

The only one I really regret selling. It was one of the 50 original that Ford sold to racers. Sold it for $5k with spares some 30 years ago.

In the Bush senior ressesion I lost a 32 3 window , I sold it to my buddy buck for half of what I had been offered , but under the condition that if he came across another one , he would have to make me a fair deal. Well he kept his word, He pick up another one but his daughter was getting married and he had to pay the caterer the next day, so I got the call and got a replacement. But I did lose two other *****en cars, a 36 roadster that had been built in the late forties and a 39 convertible coupe. I sold them to a freind of mine but they got turned into street rods. When I saw Bush J.R: won the ellection, I new it was coming and worked my *** off, so hopefully this time I wont lose two many cars.

Blame it on politicians. Wow. In the end, YOU control your economic situation, not the gov, or anyone else.

O/T but my '70 340 Cuda, it had some strange options. I really never missed the car, but if I sold it now it would pay for the kids college. If I had kept that and my 71, 73 Challengers, and my 69 Roadrunner and told the kids they are on their own I could retire.

My old man in 69' bought a new pontiac fire chicken "I know, I know it's a not a cool car." But anyway. He paid 2100.00 for it new and sold it for 650.00 5 years later. He told me that the money was going to pay bills. Unfortionally he said my mother maid him use the money to buy a ford pinto station wagon. It was red and it had that wood grain tape on the side of it. I am so glad that I have no memory of the 70's

My dad had a Superbird, 440+6, buckets, pistol grip, in Petty blue that he eventually sold for parts. He was too busy at his own shop at the time to work on it, so he had another shop . They ruined it beyond repair (at the time) so he decided to part ways. The buyer stored it in a barn for a few months to a couple of years, and then the barn burnt down, completely destroying the car.
I've heard this story ever since I was a kid, and I still hear about it when I bring up auctions on ebay.
He sold every car he ever had so that he could afford the next project, but luckily he stopped that pattern when he sold his '55 Chevy with tri-power to fund his '32 Ford with a 392 hemi. He still has it, as well as an unrestored 50's style '32 roadster, similar Model A, '55 Chevy g***er, and other toys and long term projects.
