    Definitely a cool video. I'd seen this video on the 1901 Ford Sweepstakes before, but DAMN it's good enough to watch again.

    That car is as basic as basic gets. To get the full effect,try this: imagine taking a modern car, stripping off everything that makes it forgiving to drive, or even just driveable.

    Simplify the powertrain to what the Sweepstakes used, remove the brakes, take the ackerman out of the front end and pull the surrounding bodywork off. Make all the controls into simple levers located at their most direct connections.

    At this point, the result is not even as technically advanced as the mockup of your project car before you roll it out of the garage for the first time. Riding lawnmowers are more refined than this.
    Now get behind the wheel with your most trusted ***ociate at your side for ***istance, rev it up and go 75 mph, not in a straight line, but around a course with turns. Sporty.
