UPS truck has stopped by a couple times... and dropped off PARTS that I traded stuff for on the hamb.

I got the '48 hubs from rocky thru some horse tradeing. Cleaned them up and mounted them on the spindles. The bearings cleaned up nice! Now for the machine work and the redrill for the right bolt pattern

38 axle/spindles, 48 hubs, 40 ford backing plates, 60 buick drums and machine work make the front end look like ART!

no need to reply to this... just wanted to post some updates... i dig seeing **** go together on the hamb and watch it all take form is the best part.

I'm getting scoops for the front of the backing plates from ROOTHAWG! and I got a ***le from Packrat32...

I think out of everything the ***le is the coolest part. Thanks Tony I'll email you when the stuff is in the mail!

I posted a thread on tire sizes for 35 wires... I never even knew what those style tires came off of. NOW I do... and since I did start to build a 60's hot rod im schooling myself against running wires. I admit to "learning" alot of info building this car! I think thats the best part!

I think i'll start out with plain rims and buy some cheater slicks for the back etc untill I find the perfect set up.

I really love the radir look or old fentons or ET's. I'm leaning twards ribbed radirs fat/skinny w/ whitewall slicks.

    so enough for now...
    gotta run to cl***
thanks for everyone thats been helpin answer all my questions!!!

Great! I've been staying busy on mine as well...got the backing plates from the Buick and the ford taken to work to blast the rust off'n em but the little cabinet-style blaster was taking wayyyyyyy too long. I brought 'em home and slipped them into my moll***es bath to get ultra clean for a few weeks.
Finally got the 60 pontiac posi 3rd member freed up so I can dis***emble it and harvest the posi carrier from it.
Dis***embled and honed the 59 Buick front wheel cylinders and gotta still get 1.25" kits tomorrow.
Brought the new clutch ***y home to prepare for ***embly.

That clutch is a 39 LaSalle disc with a 56 Dodge pickup pressure plate. It all goes behind my 331 Chrysler hemi with the LaSalle ****** behind it. Here's where the rusty ol' backing plates live for a few weeks.....

    rickyracer damn u

heres a pic but they're 14's and that kinda su** for running slicks there all in 15"

im gonna have a post with a bunch of rims for sale...
14" chrome reverse a full set
    16" 35 spokes
    17" chrysler rims

and then im gonna go buy some RUBBER, like invest in some 8" pie cut slicks.

Rocky yer rig is lookin good!
Its funny how this **** adds up, im trying to budget it and get by with what i can since im in school... like saving on the chrome work by doing most of the work myself... but its tough. I wish i was working 40 hr weeks and pulling in some real money.

cant believe all the time just cleaning old stuff up and tracking down parts... it CONSUMES your life.

Glad I have you guys as a resource or this dream would never happen... thanks!

    I've wanted a hot rod since I was 5!

    for u rickyboy...

looking nice...are you doing the work at the house? nice project i bet, fits real nice in there. i can see the blue flashes from the hobart through the dark glow of a 20 inch garage window as the mad fabricator injects hate into his love machine. ruling all, and knowing none, he strives for glory from his medium of choice!

BTW Tuck, I am glad to hear you gave up on the 35 wire deal. I like the rest of the build plan, the wires just didn't seem right. Keep the pics coming.
