Just caught this thread (Love the mark II Cortina's) and I got to thinking. My dad bought me an old 1 owner 64 Vauxhall Victor in original condition similar to the pic. Now when I say "original" I mean it still has the dealer sticker, original paint, interior, engine, hubcaps and smell. Which is great... but what the fuck am I supposed to do with this thing? Those lines, the tiny little engine.

    So I'm gonna start photochopping.

  5. An FB?

A guy I work with upgraded and gave me his old 5.0. Never done this before so I found a picture of a '54 Chevy 3100 on the net with a nice side view, dug out some shots I'd saved from Zumo doing a '53/54 Bel Air for Dan from Montana (Can't remember his HAMB name) and borrowed his wheels and 1/4 panel to try to get it to begin to look like what my son has for a vision of his truck.

Now, how do I change the colors like you guys do so the whole thing goes from red to green?

Chopped, sectioned, pancaked and 1954 Bel Air quarter treatment. WWW with Tri-Ribs is what he wants.

Here is one I tried of my 49. I really dig the flaked roof but I was thinking it would be better with a 3" chop.

    Hy Danimal,
I'm still gettin used to 6.0 but I'm pretty sure it operates the same as yer 5.0. Use the "pen" tool to click multiple spots around the outline of the area that you want to paint (around curves this will take multiple clicks placed closely together). When you reach the the spot where you began, connect the last click to the first to form an enclosed area. Next, choose yer color, the opacity or pressure you want to use on the tool, etc. and right click in the space that you have outlined. You will see an option that says "fill space"--choose it and then left click on the space. This will deposit color. Multiple clicks gets you more layers.
I suggest choosing a white-ish color to begin with to lighten the existing paint, and then come back with the new color and use many layers to achieve the look you want. Many thanks to those who have pm'ed me tips--much appreciated.
    Hope this helps

  27. my dad and i are getting ready to paint his 53 studebaker. he likes orange and black. some sort of two tone, but not the same old break along the body line/scallop. mabye break it along the top of the fender? i'd also like to see the headlights laid back using early vw buckets. similar to the mercedes type, but use vw so they look more like factory. any help?? i found this pic online, figured silver would be an easy color to work with....i'll see if i can find a good profile shot...

  28. couple more shots...
