What was that body? A truck cab? It´s massively oversized.
I´d be looking for a T roadster body I think.

oooooh this looks like fun, ok so heres my truck, could somone make the main body hotrodflatz "mint" and the fenders, grill, and bumpers hotrodflatz "cream yellow"? and a small 3 inch chop would be awsome. Thanks!

I know the pic sucks but right now its in a million pieces in the shop so i cant take any more.

just an fyi but the cream yellow is actually a slightly off white. and all the colors are matte, although im not sure if that can be done in photochop.

It's a 39 Chevy pickup cab. I know it looks oversized, but that's the way I got it and I'll have to work with it. It has the original frame, so a T-bucket body is out. It actually looks better in person and doesn't photograph well. Here is a different angle.
    Thanks, Tom

Have a side shot?I thought that frame looked pretty hefty. It does look better balanced from the back. I´ll see what I can think of, if you aren´t worried about a bit of cutting and welding. How much clearance is there under the hood, if the hood line were to be dropped?

    Thanks James,
Quite a bit of clearance under the hood, so I think it could be dropped down more. I would prefer not to cut too much on the main body. I am going to shorten the roll bar as it seems way too high. I don't have any other side shots and the car is in winter storage. I am also thinking of changing the windshield to a Duvall style or maybe just one straight windshield instead of the two separate ones. The guy that built it wanted it to resemble an old salt lakes racer. I think I'd like to stay with that look. Any help would really be appreciated.
    Thanks, Tom

  6. Very nice! I am keeping the interior stock, they were plenty wild from the factory. It matches the paint and also has black and "chrome(mylar)" features.

    More, more!:)

Anyone want to move the "hump" at the front of the rear quarter panel a couple inches forward toward the door opening?

Hey dave, can you post a high res picture? We need the better image to do the
    photoshop. Is that your Chevy?

I narrowed/tapered the body to slim the cowl down, so it´s no longer hanging way outside the frame, and to try and lose some width from the hood. Added a track nose and full hood, trimmed metal from the top of the doors and a few inches from the bottom of the body. I´d probably look around for a real roadster turtle deck too, if it was mine.

Nope, mine is still in pieces all over my shop. I grabbed this one off of the internet because it's the right year and similar chop to what I'll end up with. I'm about to replace the front humps anyway (rusty AND dented) and it'd be really easy to move them forward a bit. I thought it might make the car look longer and/or more sleek?

Is this photo better to work with?

Wow! I like that a lot. It would take quite a bit of work. I especially like the nose and the windshield frame. A turtle deck would look good, too, but I think may be a bit short. This car has a long wheelbase. You did a great job and gave me a lot to think about.
    Thanks, Tom

I borrowed the kustom picture from Rikster. Some one needs to build the concept that
Rikster performed. All I did was laid the wood to it....

Is this what your talking about? If not let me know...

Well maybe. The guy that built it did a really good job mechanically, but body wise, not so much. I don't know where I'm going with it. Got to do something different though. Hate to start from scratch. I have a line on another cab and may go that route, except everyone does that. I like to be different. (radical) Still taking suggestions.
    Thanks, Tom :)

Thanks, Mick, that's exactly what I wanted to see. I'd say it looks fine that way, but not worth the trouble.

I did this 1952 Pontiac Tin Woody for a client a year or so ago.
Since then the client has sold the project... I hope somebody else will built it.
Rarely seen one of these Tin Woody's done as a cool custom car. But with the right modifications I think they can look really good. The major trick is the front of the roof. Problem with these cars is the downward flow towards the windshield which prevents the desirable rearwards flow of a Custom Car. I fixed it by using the front portion of the roof of a Chevy (or other GM product) Hard Top... the roof skin roof that needs to be reworked to for the Tin Woody.. but it could be done.

The stock car I started with.

If someone does a dope enough 'shop, I will actualy paint it that way this winter and you will get all the credit, haha. Heres a direct link if you want a big picture:

Couple ideas, messing bout. those things on the green rear were meant to be flames. I`ll learn to draw them one day.
