Hey guys, I am debating on changing the wheel/tire combo and possibly paint color once i return from my deployment. With that being said, could someone possibly photoshop my truck with some Red Wheel vintique Gennies, 1942 Ford car hub caps and Beauty rings? I would like to also see it with the Black WV Gennies, hub caps and beauty rings with a two tone paint job (Black top to the chrome side trim, with the turquoise bottom and maybe even a turquoise cap) Oh also if you could drop it a bit too. Thanks in advance.

  5. A darker background won't make any difference since it's rhe car color that you'rer wanting to change. Open up either of these pics in GIMP and see how they respond to changes in Hue and Saturation settings. I've not used GIMP but I suspect that you may get better results by choosing a "source" color (blue, red, cyan, green, etc.) that matches the color you're changing from. Moving the sliders will then change your "destination" color, the color you want to change to.

I had to mask and paint to get the teal color on this first picture. After that I opened another copy and in the Hue and Saturation tool I selected "cyan" for my source color. Then I moved the Hue, Saturation and Lightness sliders around to get the red color I wanted.

I also took the liberty of removing the door handles and a couple pieces of molding on the front of the fender. Then I took the jet plane molding from the quarter and moved it and the body side stripe forward into the door.

And while I was working I had a visit from our official Photoshop forum mascot! If you keep her fed you won't have any trouble with mice in your garage! :D

    Love that cat!

  7. Ok the wife told me she wants her 49 caddy to be our ultimate cruiseing car, and then she started throwing out ideas and asking me what i thought. i told her i would ask someone on here if they could photoshop the ideas up so she could see what she likes and doesnt like.

    The ideas:

1, Maybe a very slight chop. it is a 4 door car
2, lowered slightly, not in the weeds
3, dark silver flaked roof, maybe down the center of the hood.
    4, dark red metallic body

heres a good side pic of a 4 door caddy. this is not our car just a good side pic of one:

heres the red she was thinking:

If any of you guys would be willing to take a stab at it she would really appreciate it as would I! once she is convinced then i can go to work on it.

Ok, this is my last attempt at saving this concept. Not much has changed just
minor refinements. Nothing against old school, just like playing with the new.

I kinda like it. I could see this with one of the Ford Coyote motors and a Tremec.

I really like the teal job! Nice subtle touches to the chrome trim. I am determined to learn some form of photo editing -GIMP; PhotoShop, or PSP. I played around with GIMP a little last night while I was eating dinner, but then the car work began -swapping out the gas tank. Could you attach your work in one of these file types? -I promise to keep the cat fed.

Almost, i was looking for two different renditions. One being stock torquoise w/red wheels + the drop and then other one with the two tone black top torquoise bottom with the black wheels + drop... I really appreciate your assistance though. And as for my deployment I cant share specifics but its near the arabian sea.

Thanks RichG I really appreciate your time and efforts, and I def will come home in one piece I hope.

  17. Hmmm... Not exactly sure what you're asking for. Do you just want a larger copy of the image or were you hoping for something that still had the layers open and hadn't been flattened? PS uses a file type .psd to save layers, but I thought it was a propietary file type. Don't know if GIMP will open a .psd with all the layers and history intact.

Oh, and the cat... her name's Shadow.

Attn: this is a forewarning that the below image is not HAMB friendly. This is how I bought it. I'm looking to change to some baby moons for this year. I can't decide on a thin or wide white wall. Photoshop masters, I ask for your help. TIA

1Evil55, you plan on any other changes? I can't photoshop but I figured I'd ask about the direction whether you're gonna leave it close to stock or switch it up some.

Here´s a kind of a different look for you. 57 Buick side chrome and radiused wheel wells. Can´t recall seeing one done like this. I´ll leave the colour choice up to you.

I've removed the bumper guards as well as the gravel guards. Exterior wise the car has a lot of work. It is a single stage paint over lots of waves, bondo, and loads of rust. Interior is fresh. It has a big block in it. For now, I'd just like to drive it.

I've been playing with some ideas on a custom grille. I have a few different size bullets that I was hoping to find happiness with. Nothing yet...

I dig driving it as is...well after the wheel change.:p

I just asked 'cause when I saw it, these came into my mind. And then you said "bullets" and I thought of the last one.

The orange '55 is super bad. I've seen many pics of it. The bullet idea probably stemmed from it actually.

My 41 is a short door business coupe. I am ready to send it to get chopped with A and B pillars slanted. The metal guy tells me that the long door on the business coupe makes the chop flow and look better, he suggests I look for either sedan doors or club coupe doors, (8 inches longer). Is there some one out there who could possibly render a chop with the small door, then with the long door? Ir would sure help me with the decision on what to do. He also mentioned pie cutting the hood. I admire you guy's talent and your willingness to help other HAMB members. Thanks, Gary

This may sound silly, but it looks cool in my head...

What if you ran the 2 door doors and made it into a 3 window coupe? (or is that the plan?)

Personally, I think the short door cars look WAY better chopped than the long door.

I think something along the Hirohata paint scheme will reach the scene. Dark blue and light blue green body pillars and roof. I'm sorry, I can not get a good Photoshop for you. But I'm sure someone can.

GIMP shows it will open a .psd file. I would be curious to see what would happen.
