You guys are amazing! Thanks, can we change the color? How about a black or what you think would look good. I have no idea how hard this is to do so if I am asking too much just say so! Thanks again!

  3. LOL! Actually, James D cheats. And we haven't been able to figure out how he's doing it yet. And many of us are pissed off, mostly because we all want to learn how to cheat as good as he does!

Alright guys. Need some help on this one. Got a 56 ford here that needs a 3 inch chop and a black/silver paint job and lowered but like it would have been in the day. Not like it has bags. Please and thank you

How do you want to go about chopping this with that back window? The roof looks chopped anyway on these.
Here it is in silver and black anyway.

I noticed some neighbourhood kids stole your fender spear, so here's a new one.

HI again, could you paint this 64 falcon the same paint scheme as the 69 ford drag team mustang and add a teardrop thunderbold hood? I think this is my final decision, if it looks like i think it will. Thank you for your help again, i appreciate your time.

  22. Not my car, but this DeSoto limousine (1951? )showed up a week or so ago not far from work. So of course I had to stop and grab a few shots and then I got to thinking about what might happen to it if it were mine.

Time for a little Photoshop practice! Maybe someone else can decide if it needs to be chopped. And I'm sure somebody has a better choice of wheels or hub caps. Different paint maybe?

I think the color looks fine and the skirts are just right. Here it is with a chop and new shoes. Got rid of the OT stuff in the background too. This could be one cool car!

I kept your ribbed aluminum skirts, nice touch.
Instead of chopping the top, I just filled in the rear window and shaved the door handles.

Gives it a mysterious, "who's the VIP inside?' look.
    Could be you!

Here is a slightly altered version of my last change:
B and C pillars leaned forward 9 degrees.

    Another tweak to the limo:
I angled the leading edge of the rear fender 9 degrees to match the B pillar.

    Guys this thread is awesome!!

Ok...I really need some help and inspiration please. I bought a 1947 Plymouth Coupe a few months ago, and it's had a 5 page feature in June 2011 Custom Car magazine so it's well known over here in the UK.

It runs on airbags, has a hot 355ci SBC, the front grille is from a 46 Oldsmobile, and has been built over the space of 15 years by a guy in Florida called Bill Glass. It was then imported into the UK in early 2010. Apart from some mechanical bits, the car exterior and styling hasn't changed since it was imported.

I'm looking to change the colour and the wheels to make the car my own, but I'm struggling to decide what will look good and what won't. My friend Numbnuts on here has suggested this thread to help me out, so here I am! :D

Some ideas I had were dark green metalflake or maybe candy apple green with a pearl white/cream roof. I'm also going to have some flames or scallops ghosted on, but not in your face stuff, more a subtle style. Other plans might be some pinstriping to break up the trunk area and perhaps some louvres.

Ideas for wheels.....I thought about powder coating the steel wheels gloss black with chrome bullets and nuts, maybe even a chrome ring around the rim. Or 57 Caddy hubcaps is another idea. Someone suggested chrome or billet wheels.

So with all these ideas up in the air, I'm hoping some of you Photoshop geniuses will show my car in a couple of different guises.

    Thanks! :p

    Mark,
You have a gorgeous car with late-forties custom styling. The Olds grille in the Plymouth speaks volumes by itself.

Honestly, if you go with metalflake and flames and the other late-fifties stuff, you're going to clash with the style of the car. If anything, I'd go with a rich maroon or deep green solid color. Maybe something from the 1946-49 Packard color charts.

I'd keep it classy. But hey, it's your car!
