I don't think you could ever go wrong with white walls on chrome reverse......

Instead of scallops and all that, you could just lower the car, add wide white walls, thunderbird wires and then
find a pair of cruiser skirts painted to match.

My version would be from about 1963-64 era.
Radiused the rear wheel wells to show off the Hurst Mags on twin line whitewalls. Added a rear exhaust dump.
Then gave it some color in a darker blue fade.

Ha! Madfish, the cruiser skirts look good here. Edsel rear quarters are so visually heavy the wheel area gets lost in the design. You covered it it up to get the flow and it works. I went the other way and opened it up to put in a bigger wheel and tire.

  9. Moose , if you have time, would you add a Fulton sun visor and chrome stacks with turnout to side , like corvette (4") .

Also a guy on my build sit came up with a black paint on belt line over cab and on sleeper with s down to quaters and then back . Red on bottom and white above . This would put about four inches of hood and up white .
    HAPPY NEW YEAR! Blue

  10. Stacks will be between cab and sleeper .fyi

If someone would like to put a corvette 57 grille without the oval, french the headlights, remove the sidetrim and door handles, whitewall tires I'd be grateful! And a nice paint?

    Thanks anyway, love this thread!

Here's my thoughts, for what they're worth.

The corvette grille is probably going to float and look small in the original grille space. I've seen some custom volvo's that have used large bumper over rides to create a corvette type grille. (See example). So, in fixing the things you requested, I
kept your original grille and just straightened it up, then put in a drawer pull type of grille because it would be simple
to create. I kept the colors clean and simple hoping the simplicity would be easy to achieve.

  20. Now how could I do that...I can only tell you that you started working on it at 3:36:53 and finished modifying it at
5:07:32 using Photoshop CS6 on your Mac and that you have made an excellent choice of color.;)

I took off the side trim then added some back - a little lower and heavier. I kept the grille divider and opened up the lower section a bit and added a toothy bar. Chrome wheels and white walls.

Thank you all! Great inspiration! And by the way, I have painted two of my cars in that exact colour blue! Coincidence? I think not

  29. Not much going on so I thought I'd play around with Kustomkar's Volvo to see what it might look as a radical custom with a bit of a European flair....Here's what I ended up with and my apologizes for Kustomkar for twisting up his great car.:)
