  1. Here's some five spokes..For the heck or it I tinted the windows just a bit too.

  2. Leo...Black very seldom looks totally black and depending on the ambient light it becomes more or less various shades of gray and picks up the reflections of its surroundings colors. When I was running a body shop back in the day we found that black was one of the hardest colors to match and often required a lot of tinting and blending even when you were using the exact paint code for the vehicle. I could make the car a lot darker but as you said the existing color looked good with the gold.

And thank goodness you regulars aren't too sensitive. ;) We don't know any of us from beans, yet, you're throwing down your time and effort for strangers like me who pipe up with comments about your color quality or like my blue comment about the satin finish. It isn't meant to be discounting what you put into the picture, but it could easily be taken that way, if someone chose to. I always will overexplain my point of view so no discounting of someone's PS work is possibly left to interpret. I have not the slightest idea of what you all need to do to make the magic color pictures you do, but God love you all and if I have anything negative to say about a result, it'll be because of the impression or response it causes, not the work that's thrown down. I'm pleased to read you agreed with my sense of color pairings. :D

  4. Wow Moose... you're really good at this  I need a lot of practice! o_O

It's a toss up for me, either the dark blue car with w/w and red steelies or the red car with the 5 spoke wheels. Two different looks, both comparably attractive, it just depends on what your final intended image you want to present as you roll down the road.

  6. Anybody care to do a couple 2 tone options for a '39 Ford pickup? I'm thinking to use the belt line as a break with the top being Cream or Ivory and the bottom dark blue or maroon or possibly a lighter green. Here's a couple pics I swiped off the net - not my truck..
Thanks a bunch for anything you can come up with. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1422073831.412867.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1422073846.425460.jpg

Can someone please remove the side trim on this? I'd like to see how it looks. Add full moons in the front too!
    Thanks, Paul

My take on the Hudson; sort of a factory custom for the show circuit.
Lowered, a bit more in back with half skirts. Removed/rearranged the trim.
Dropped the bottom of the front fender even with the running board cover.
The roof is not chopped, but the crown is thinned and re-sloped. 42 Hudson 04.jpg

What would the dart look like as a mild custom with theses wheel combos

  20. So, any chance you could do a version of the two tone '39 pickup using the top of the belt line and then the bottom of the windshield/cowl top so that just the roof will be the off white and the hood will be body color? Thanks again- Greg

  21. Hey flamed48....If it wasn't snowing here in New England today this would have never happened:D

  24. Yes. That really was a confusing way to go about asking wasn't it.
I think it's a bit more old style that way. Looks great. Thanks again.

I think both are nice, but they do have a different style to each.

From the cheap seats, that car, and color, is sort of low key; having the spoked wheels sets them off more so than if you go with the generic chrome reverse rims. imho.

Thanks. Hudson, like Mercury on the '40, rather dropped the ball on the roofline I feel.
