  1. Thanks, I think it would look good without the white walls. They seem way too loud...

  2. Maybe you would be so kind to do it without the Whitewalls....

Just a recommendation, but I think a light cream color would complement the red better than tan.

I would leave the wheels red with cream firewall. The problem with the wheels being light is they don't set off the chrome trim rings and hubcaps enough. JMHO

  8. I'm waiting to see what it looks like with the white walls and black wheels and firewall !!!

I was perusing an old Rod & Custom (July 1997) when I spotted an illustration by Darrell Mayabb. It was a pretty wild looking ’56 Chevy 2-door post, chopped with dogleg in the rear and a’60 Buick grill. I decided to recreate some of those ideas in a photochop.

I started with a’57 Chevy but the effect is much the same. I made a few changes but I like the result. What do you think?

I have a 50 Studebaker pickup project. The bed I have is a piece of rust that would take a massive amount of work to repair. I have however just been given a bed fro a 62 champ pickup, this one is a slabside bed not offered on the Studes till the 60's. Can someone photoshop the 60'sbed onto the 50 tuck to see what it might look like, possibly with some mods to make it look better? I am thinking along the lines of a Studebaker Cameo style. I may be thinking that the slab side bed may not look right with the more rounded fifty style cab.
Here are a couple of pictures to help.

    Thanks

Not sure why the one came out so small?

If I remember correctly, the slab-side bed on the Studebaker Champs was actually a Dodge unit. I believe Studebaker bought the tooling from Chrysler Corp when Dodge switched to a different style. It never quite matched up with the Champ styling, but that wasn't such a big deal when truck were, well, trucks!

  15. I'm kinda up in the air about this one...

Thanks themoose, Yeah kinda up in the air myself. It would be a one of a kind though and have people scratching their heads. Looks like I would have to somehow continue the bed body line into the doors.

Yeah I used a narrow chrome strip in the rendering...

That would be doable. I like this bed better than when they put a newer GM step side bed on a Stude truck. Would it be possible to do one in red?

Thanks again, you are the master

The bed, itself, would probably need to be narrowed at least a half foot to flow into the cab as illustrated. Some Champ owners have done the same (since the bed is too wide on those, stock).

Narrowing the bed would not be much problem, I imagine you would have to do a smooth tailgate or fit one from an original box to get the script
