I like that look. A bit beyond my talent level (actually, quite a bit), but the red really makes it look cool compared to the grandpa look now.

It looks pretty good as a long roof.

Gimp, many of the same features as photoshop, but free. Read my post on page before, there is a link to a download site. There are many tutorials for Gimp, just search "Gimp Tutorials" Also check out the Digimods.com site. And the big key is practice. Everyday I learn something new. Theres lots of talent here and help is available.

Okay, I see that this has taken on a life of its own and it seems that no request is too big, so here is my shot:
'51 Chevy coupe. No side trim, no quarter panel or front fender gravel guards, no window stainless, but KEEP the beltline stainless and the rocker stainless.
Chop the top around 3 inches (no more), leaning the rear window. [I have a '48 Chevy rear window and surround so don't worry about the hump the stock window will create.]
Lean the door posts as much as the chop dictates. Then extend the back of the lower rear quarters out to give the same angle lean as the door posts and do the same to the tops of the front fenders (i.e. extend the headlights out with '52 Merc housings frenched in) to give the same angle at the front fenders leading edge, door posts, and rear quarters back edge.
It will sit low all around (of course) and I will likely run '52 Olds hubcaps. I am also planning to make the front wheel openings a nice arch ala the Pontiac and Olds of the same year.
    Gloss black with wide whitewalls.
(This is NOT a photo of my car, which is a "field find," but it is the right model and has the right headlights already on there. If this photo does not work, feel free to use any photo of any '51-52 Chevy coupe.)
And this might sound dumb, but how about making the car face to the left instead of the right? When I look at car profiles I always do it from the driver side and this one just looks backward to me!

    Hi Outlaw-
Just a quick tip for prepping cars that are rusty, multi-colored patina, etc.. If its just some small areas, I use the eyedropper and sample the most uniform color nearby and feather it in with a lighter opacity until it looks as good as it can get.

If its a large area, well, I just do the whole damn car on a different layer with a big brush and erase the overspray.

Don't know if this made any sense, or if it's the easiest way, but I hope you get something out of it.

  20. You can always look for a better picture online.

    Thank You
Can't decide if I like the mags or steelies better???
If possible I would like to see it with a hood and hood sides without the air scoop and also with the air scoop sticking out of the hood. I have a hood and sides, but would have to cut&modify the sides to accommodate the headers---I like it without any hood ,but might want a different look once in a while
    Thanks
I don't know which pic would be easier to work with so I put a couple more up

the car with no flaws in the paint is easer to change color on, he could of used your pic but this comes out better when doing colors

...cleaned up the paint, got rid of the elephant ears, side pipes, rear bumper, hood badges, then lowered it with a new set of rims. I tried a variety of things on the grill and front bumper, but I think your best bet is to simply get the grill replaced and the bumper repainted.:)

would i be pushing it to ask for another one?
    <p>
the current plan for the car is black with some fender skirts in the back and some hubcaps or centercaps. If you could get the front a little lower that would be awesome too.
