I like it! Thanks alot! I yanked those huge ugly mirrors yesterday, and have been looking for some grill parts(hoping to find some old dual headlights that look decent). I would like to see the truck in a maroon almost black. And is it silly that i'm sorta partial to those side pipes?

.....man my rig looks nice lowered....

I did these on another HAMB post.

Somebody wanted to know if he could built his 1948 Chevy four door as a Westergard style custom. Most responses told him NO...
But I felt it could be done so I went to work. The chopped top has its front doors lengthened to eliminate the B-post. Lots of work. But it can be done... and I think it looks really good. The Carson style topped Convertible four door might be easier to do... But you still need to strengthen the body... which can be done of coarse...

    Starting photo

Chopped top, longer front doors and skirts added

Same as above, but less skirts

Carson style top. Windshield has to be modified to look like convertible. But the whole A-pillar from the sedan can be used, but needs to be modified to look like this. Vent windows can be "borrowed" from any other convertible, or home made.

    Longer front fenders

  14. Very cool Rik. I wonder that more folks don´t make Carson topped Phaetons from four doors.

That's a beautiful car from the start and the mods put it over the top. That paint is gorgeous. Awesome work as usual Rikster!

If it's not too much to ask, can you do one without the flames. More of a maroon stock color. Thanks

id like to see what my car would look like in 57 olds rose mist, with gold mesh below the side trim, if anyone has the time to do it,,,

  29. No time to do ti all, but this´ll give you an idea.
Every time you say "mesh", I think "that will be impossible to keep clean".
