    ^^ I don't think you needed photoshop to see that those wheels are hideous.

  9. I think they would look alright polished, just not on my car

    @57 Fargo

    I think the problem you're fighting is you're sticking hot rod wheels on a car that is more in line with a custom.
    Here's some Chrysler wire wheels that are more fitting on the color and style of the car.
    If you went more sinister with the color and top you might be able to go with the hot rod/ dragster style wheel.
    My two cents.

  12. I agree! My original vision was a kind of hot rod vibe, but the more I look at the car and the spend some time with it, I have come to the same conclusion...the car wants to be a mild custom for sure. I love the wires, now I need to find a set. For now it’ll be the wheel covers I have. Thanks again

    1965-68 style street customs combined smooth looks with custom wheels. Hurst was a big player then. Here's you car done up with a set a repro Hurst mags on redline tires. And a little bit of shave and paint.

  15. Thanks but that’s not doing it for me, I’m using the wheel covers I have and seriously considered decking it and getting rid of the emblems on the grill and tail pan, and saving for a set of Chrysler wires, I love them in it.

    Thanks for the input however, I’m open to all ideas!

    Good idea, and how about painting it black with a black top, with those Chrysler wires?
    And Yup, loose those AutoZone hupcaps!

  17. What autozone hub caps are those? The one on the front in the picture is off my 59 custom royal...

    The wheels you're talking about are Hurst Mags.

    HA! Madfish beat me to it.
    Yes, they are Hurst Mags and are an updated version of the mags popular in the later sixties. Take a look through Popular Customs magazine from that era and most of the street customs were running mags. I agree that Chrysler wires are a classy and elegant way to go. I just wanted to offer an alternative.

  21. Ahhh....gotcha, I like the hurst wheels, I think the copper color on the car is throwing me...madfish ruined me with the wires....

    Curious what 1950 olds park lense/turnsignal grills would look like under the 55 head light... SmartSelect_20200604-134241_Instagram.jpeg 1950-olds-donna-kennedy.jpeg

    I like that chopped '55 with the squares in the grille, and I was prepared to dislike the Olds parking lights but it actually looks nice, I like it.
