Here's one I came up with of custom grill and parking lights. It would take a ton of fabrication but hey that's the fun of playing around with custom cars:p

This grille uses oval aircraft tubing that mimics the stock bars. The bars are extended and hide the parking lights and turn signals behind.

IMHO this is the one. The other two just don't cut it with me

  6. Yup, that's the one - it's not the average tube grille. It's probably easier to construct and might actually have a chance to become reality.

    Where's Madfish???

Less larger diameter tubes look way better than the normal 55-6 bar grilles.

Ok, I sat on the struggle bus with this one. It's an aversion to competition/school bus yellow cars. This color was usually relegated to the drag cars. Never as a custom as I remember. Also, when you put scallops or flames or panel , fog, custom panels you're more or less stuck with darker colors or lighters colors to complement or contrast with the screaming yellow zonker. Add 50's touches and my brain has a meltdown. ( Did I tell you I'm a former prima donna advertising Art Director)
That said, knowing we're here to help you out, I looked for a compromise and tried to find something different yet still have that 50's influence. Sorry but it's the best my redneck brain could come up with.

    I really like it too!

Seemed as though that front wheel was taking a bit too much of my attention from the body and I was wondering if it would help to repeat the body color there. Still not sure - could be too much now...

Like Madfish, I struggled with the color, too, but I do like soft yellows on customs. I had an idea. Suppose you sprayed a translucent pearlescent coat over the car the soften the impact. I modeled it on Don Boeke's 1955 Lincoln Capri, "Nadine." 1955Ford Side Final.jpg Don Boeke Nadine.jpg

Could someone please delete the factory head lights and the license plate? Thank you.

  15. Ummm...when I said "some striping is in its future" I didn't quite mean this level of "some!" o_O (I did catch that you rolled up the driver's window, too! Noice!)
    :D
Did I mention that I'm a fan of yellow? My '40 Plymouth is yellow, my last CVO Road Glide was pearl yellow, the line down my back is yellow. I like the idea of maybe taming the "screaming" part like Dave suggested, and maybe incorporating the in-yer-face tone into the scallops. Fogging rules though...

    BTW, here's the interior...

Turquoise affects me the way school bus yellow affects Madfish...

Many thanks Moose! I have a pair of 39 Chevy head lights and wondered how they would look. I think that's a done deal.

Hi, could someone morph on the grill style of the 54 olds black car onto the 55 olds blue car please. Since the grill mouth flow is deferent between the two, I'd like to see a blend between the two..I mean the 55 olds grill opening is more rounded compared to the 54 so take the 54 style but have rounded ends form around the chrome mellons... I plan to paint the stainless trim on the hood n end pieces flowing around the front of the fender.. I hope you understand what I'm trying to convey.. Thank you much
