Here's a pic of the c cab that Mr Shuten has this is outta the dec.07 rod & custom..............looks like they still make 15x14 cragar SS wheels....now I gotta figure out the tire so I can start mock up soon,on my pie wagon

 

Holy crap, that thing is cool. Its good to know that there will finally be a 1:1 replica of the model! I can't wait to see that thing finished, definitely go with the purple flake!

 

GOOD NEWS!!! the guy I bought this body from got a email from Mr Daniel....said he gave his blessings to somebody for tryin to build this car.........made my day

 

Anybody got an Idea of what spot/driving lights would work on the cowl of this?....they are suposed to be the headlights......but I doubt it will work that way

 

looks like 4wd truck roll bar lights,K/C ?
I would look for the right size lens, and then make the buckets, and have them plated....?

not sure about the quality of the chrome, etc. but they're close to what you're looking for...

 

Kool good place to start.thanks.....funny thing Ive looked inside 3 different model car kits and only one had the brass parts the other two it was all chrome,gotta admit I think i like the chrome better

 

Better to have chrome on your car and big brass balls, than the other way around!

 

Surely you gotta keep some bizarre rake?It nearly looks "normal " sitting level

 

yeah I will but you gotta know the body looks more like the 1968 box drawing than the cartoonish box of the rerelease in the90s...problem is to much rake and ya cant see out

 

Depends on how tall you are. I'm 6'2" and with my 4" chopped 34 sedan, unless I nearly lie down in the seat, my visibility is restricted. Going uphill is best, going down hill is poor, and going downhill and around a curve is poorer. Sometimes 35 feet off my front hood is all I got. Still love the car, and drive it every place. <!-- / message --><!-- attachments -->

 

yeah.its all about makin it so I can drive it! word is somebody in the new england states make seat kinda like these,if not Im going to try 914 seats.& raise the back for the banana look...the rake will be set once the wheels and tires are figured out......

 

I have a mold for a '70s Fiberglass Bucketseat.
Might be a good starting point, if you cant find something that would work without modification.

 

What is this one??? I LOVE the front sheetmetal on this - I checked back into the pre-teens for Ford and couldn't find anything that looked like it - any idea on the manufacturer that had this styling?

there was a series of kits by revelle that had that renult /mack look. mine was called the moon mixer(space cement mixer!). they were all corvair, or vw? powered.

 

so anybody have an idea for "historical documents" so I can title this thing someday???..................no dude the full size one

 

That hood is actually a common style called a "coal scuttle" from back then. There were many vehicles that had them.

can you just call it a kit car, and title it to the motor?

 

well ..it was a model car KIT....but in arizona if ya do that your openin a can of worms,bonded titles insurance BS etc...........easier with old "historiacl docs" for some teens-twentys truck.......but kit car is the very last resort

as for the title, there is some ways around it,

look around at swap meets for an old model t frame or model a frame, sometimes people who sell these have the title, and you can base the build off of that title and sell off the frame,

or look up in rod and custom for an ad, there is a guy who sells old car titles,

see in Indiana, you can apply for a junk title and use that for a hot rod or a custom, I remember someone in Arizona telling me they got a P.O. Box at the reservation to avoid some B.S. with the government on hot rods.

as for a 1:1 of Pie Wagon ever being built, it never was really ever built identical to the Model kit, Tom Daniel designed it for monogram, but it was never built,

there was a few in the 70's built, but none of them were built like the model, they were basically C cab hot rods with T bucket chassis,

a place out of Michigan was offering the body and a frame, I forgot the name of the place, it has been sometime.
