Well said JJ. The Pierson '36 looks fantastic as it is, but can't wait to see back to it's "original" glory.

This picture is so awesome. I really hope someone has the opportunity to shoot the Calori and Pierson coupes together once the Pierson car is restored and repainted white.

I haven't heard...is Jimmy White/ Circle City going to be in charge of the remainder of the restoration?

I took this photo of the car on my way out of town on Monday. Great job, Jimmy and crew!

It would be AWESOME to reunite the restored 36' and the Piersons' 34' compe***ion coupe on the salt in the future(if possible)!! Maybe re-create the vintage picture of them both on the salt in the modern times..

    What do ya think Jimbo?

So, what's the story? They removed and readjusted some ch***is stuff, then added the skirts and spots to the "street rod" version? Now to be undone and repainted white? Or is it all done now (in red)?

I know it's a rather important part or our history but I wouldn't be in rush to paint it white just yet. I'd keep it like this for a few years unless there's a Pebble Beach cl*** coming up.

The story is: Joe Torvick ran his '36 (like Bob's) at record runs too, I can't remember (80 this year) what Joe's times were, but on Monday mornings at school, it was all abuzz on his weekend speeds!
Jim McKinnley's white chopped '36 was more of a custom than racing.
These 3 '36 white chopped coupes were the rage around school back then, 1946-1950.

Can you s****e that white paint off and scoop it into a little baggy since that's obviously the closest I'm gonna come to owning anything with history? thanks, JJ

Does anyone know when exactly they chopped the '36?

Mainly, was it before the July 31st 1949 Russetta lakes meet?

    thanks

I know Bobby Meeks chopped it with the help of the Peirsons and I know Don Montgomery talks about it being late in 49.
Maybe Jim can chime in later tonight, im sure he knows what month. He has had lengthy discussions with **** Pierson as of late!
