Amazing difference a good buffing makes. Poor truck sat outside in the driveway of the guy I bought it from for 10 years. I left a note asking if it was for sale every other year for those ten years. It looked great when I first saw it ten years ago, but sitting in the hot Florida sun and salt air had taken its toll. But a buffing with nothing more than Meguiers Cleaner Wax and it came back to life pretty good.

Neat truck! Nothing like bringing back dead paint. Makes all the difference in the world with just a little work.

I deleted anything pertaining to any government/ anything check.

Nothing to do with an old truck.

Great truck I'm glad you saved it. I hate to see nice vehicles rotting away when people don't want to sell them or try to keep them from getting weather damaged.

That turned out to be pretty nice. A high school buddy had an F100 the same color that was a nice truck in 1963 but at least one gal wouldn't go out with him because he had a truck rather than a car.

I've never been a fan of those side mount spares but having laid on hot pavement and in the mud to pull the spare out from under the back of a truck more than once that side mount becomes pretty attractive.

I like that level of depth/shine to the paint. I'd certainly stop and check it out in the parking lot.

    Nice work.

Great save! Love a survivor stocker more and more as I get older.
My uncle Simon had a small farm on which he grew row crops. If I recall correctly, alfalfa, barley, cotton and the like. He had a 54 F-100 in that exact color he used as his irrigation/field truck. He removed the doors due to all the in and out. The bed was full of those short irrigation ditch pipes and every bed corner had a shovel standing in it. I don't think that one got saved.
My bro is a 56 F-100 fan (he was born in '56) and has had a couple; has one now. 53-56 are some of the most beautiful trucks ever.

A friend of mine asked me to go with him to pick up an out of topic by 3 years, muscle car. When we got it to his garage it was late, but he was already talking about getting it painted. The car was bright pink. I told him to give me some polishing compound and a rag. The car was in perfect condition and had its original paint on it. I rubbed out a 18" by 18" section and the paint was cherry red. That was about 20 years ago, and he did the whole car and it still looks great. It is amazing how some old paint will hold up for years. The lacquer on my avatar is 43 years old.
