Thanks Guys. I am very proud of it but can't take the credit. I had the help of some very talented people. They really pushed on with it and have taken care of all the little details without issue. Can't wait to get back on the road.
Here’s a bit of action for you. Great to hear her running again. I love that cam! https://youtube.com/shorts/7s7v1qf81gA?si=lm60jT0I8dCkEmKY
Well that’s it guys. My friend did me a great favour and moved the car back home for me with his box trailer to avoid the wet and dirty roads, so that I could put it away for the winter in good shape. There are still a few little details that I want to attend to, but it’s pretty much all done. The guys at the Bodyshop made a great job and were a pleasure to deal with throughout.
ABSOLUTLEY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! And AL:L that work in just 6 pages on the HAMBONE!!!!!! i just cant believe it....very very nice, and yes im partial to 39-40s......
I have got the replacement shifter in place now and the wife has made me a gaiter for it. It’s a tight fit over the quick shift kit, but looks much better than the stock T5 mustang-style shifter that was on it. Much more in keeping with the style of the car.
Early in this thread I mentioned the heavy steering that the car suffered from. While the car was jacked up I found that the steering box felt smooth and as I would expect from this age of car. I lowered it down onto its tyres with a couple of sheets of Perspex under each tyre and again, it turned fine, so I put the majority of the problem down to the tyre contact with the floor. Anyway, I have now splashed out on a set of Firestones. Not only do they look a lot better, but the steering has dramatically improved. in this picture I had just washed the blue dye off the walls. These tyres went onto a freshly powder-coated set of rims.
