also, have you checked what year the engine number is? you may have a 30-31 block number and thats what year the state will want to call your car. check the number at the model a club web site and see when that block was made

  5. You forgot to mention that you need to lift the body to see the number.

  6. Blazedogs, don't sweat it, it's not that big of a process, just tedious and time consuming. Chances are very likely that that might not be the original engine, if it is that would be surprising but possible. No way to verify unless the frame VIN matches the engine to be sure. A lot of times you can use the engine number for the VIN.

I've bonded in Iowa, it's easy and cheap. When we get together the bond subject comes up.... every one has a different bond story. usually some "loud guy" dominates the conversation and scares the HELL out of the guy that wanted to know about bonding. In Iowa it's easy!!! Just give them what they want and shut your motor mouth!!!

photo 1928.jpg Im in the process of getting a ***tle in Minnesota for my current project. It had no ***tle or bill of sale,my father had purchased in72 and i have had it since.I had to fill out a statement of facts and supply pictures. The vin number was barely legible so they they would not give me a ***le.I have to go through the inspection process twice.Once to review and the second to affix the new tag with a vin number.I stopped at the inspection center in rice to determine what i would need to p*** inspection. He said to have it 90 % complete, running before i bring it in, with receipts for any mechanical items that we changed out. This was key or they would deny and not p***.I was not told i needed to bond the ***le,maybe due to value or because we have owned it for so long.Im glad i stopped and talked to the guy as it was tough to find out exactly what needed to get it done.Told me i had 7 years before i would have to go through the hole process again.Hope it don't take that long.

  10. Just my $.02
    Use the engine block number
fill out the affidavid of fax and confidently walk
into the mvb and tell them you want to register the car.
They will either do it or tell you Whatever else they need.
Remember there were 4,600,000 model As. If you are confident the
car is real the will give you the ***le.
They really don't care about numbers, just money, and getting you out
    of the office!
