Many thanks for the encouragement. I know the fabrication work isn't exactly 'inspiring' but as long as it is safe and functional I will be happy.
I skipped a step with my last post. Here are the pics of the rear bones and trans mounts.
It will run open drive so a pair of torque arms will be incorporated.

I like this a lot. I too liked the steel body prior to narrowing, but it looks cool your way as well. Staying true to your plan is better than pleasing the m***es. Keep going and we'll enjoy from our side!

    Well wonders never...
Progress has been non existent on the modified for far too long so I made the time to pop over today with a view to actually doing something on it. Close of play saw the two plates fabricated that will mount the VW bus box in it's cowl steering position within the inner firewall frame. Lots of drilling and even more filing! I need to invest in some decent hole saws etc.
Here is the first plate. Tacked at the moment but will be fully welded to the frame mount.

The rear plate fabricated and the steering box mounted to it.

    Mounted together.

Thanks man. 21 studs were pump in head until 37-38 when they switched to pump in block for a couple of years before introducing the 24 stud. Mine is an English Ford Pilot engine similar to the 37-38 engines.
