The Qualifiers of Long Beach

In the '60's there was a Long Beach car club, the Qualifiers who raced several cars at Lions. I was a kid and really admired those guys. I believe they had a '37 Chevy (the "Vintage '37"?) that I think Bill Chirchfield(?) drove. Additionally, there was a black Model A sedan that didn't look like much but was really fast. Four-speed cars that, like I said, really excited me as a kid. Does anyone remember them?
