Event Coverage The Race of Gentlemen, 2nd Annual 2013

Yes me too!!

 

Here's where I'm at. A CPA in the middle of tax season trying to find time to put it all together. It is a welcome diversion.

Hoping to be able to sneak away one night, assemble the mechanical brakes, put on the drums and tires, and be able to roll it around again.

 

We are currently trying as we speak. Nothing is a definite, yet people have booked.

This is crazy to me as I have said, "do not book until I give the word". We are exploring others cities and you should just listen to me for your own benefit.

We will have an answer soon and will start a new thread for 2014.

This I can tell you... While out in La last week I spoke with many people I consider heavy hitters. I saw a few at the land speed racing room and found out we have some Scta race gents building cars just for our race. I also had a chance to talk with some great people while at the Old Crow party and was also told about some big plans from individuals, speed shops, and a prominent car club coming in numbers to throw their hats in the ring. Fun!!!

2014 should be a real blast.

Some prominent West Coast chopper builders are also coming for our little chopper/motorcycle show we plan to have one evening at a hotel parking lot. I've always wanted to include more late 50's and 60's bikes within our event. I'm very excited about this, and the visit from some great West Coast friends. Stay tuned!!!

There will be a hell of a lot more action within the city if all goes right. Remember Early Paso? Then you get my drift...

It was his photos that Fly Wheels went nuts over first. Apparently it is a big spread and at the last minute they asked for more color photos if poss. I then forward More Than More. So I'm pretty sure it is mostly the two of them, or three... as MTM is a photog couple. Hahaha...

Not as easy to acquire as walking into the nearest Barnes & Noble, I got mine from Amazon Japan, but it's a must have....

Still no date? Talk about adding suspense to a show.

 

I'm as eager as anyone to firm up my October beach plans. The wife wants to know. The boss wants as much advance notice of time off (I work weekends).
And quite frankly I just have Beach Racing Fever, and need a fix....

But I will point out that Mel and the Oilers didn't announce the first RoG until Mid July. Then pulled off that inaugural event in high style with less than 3 months to coordinate two city governments, bunches of racers, and all the logistics for a brand new event.

I have complete confidence That the Maestro of Motor Mayhem has things well under control, and will make the announcement of details for the 3rd Annual Race of Gentlemen in dramatic fashion, and in plenty of time for us to get our calendars in order....

As soon as I know, you will all know! Beach permits and applications are being revised for 14 internally, and are not yet available to fill out. Should be soon I'm told, and you all will be the first to know.
