  10. I'm following Andy Kohler's lead....if you're going to run it into the saltwater, you need to make sure there are enough openings for that salty ocean broth to get everywhere.....

Ive been trading for everything on my car. Trying to keep me actual out of pocket low. Traded an antique tractor for my T rolling chassis i started the whole build with. Worked on my buddies coupe and he paid me by buying me the engine and trans.

Horse trading got us where we are. Who knows what the original stuff cost all those years ago? I do know the price I pay putting in all the hours. And the welding sunburn...

Its especially true when there's a deadline in the form of an event. Some of the most epic thrashes I've ever seen were to get some POS to the Road Agents show back in the day.

you guys kill me , traded into most of your parts??? ......... I WISH ! ........... i owned nothing that is going on this years potential racer until after last years race !! that's right , every single thing i need to get this thing to jersey i bought in the last 7 or 8 months and paid stoooopid money for some of it !! i didn't want to sell the coupe or any of my other toys or parts for other projects so i have been out of pocket on everything ! steel 29 roadster body , original 32 passenger car shell that we had to chop to fit the original chopped insert i found , original 32 rails , original 34 X member , original model A crossmembers , original steering components , original banjo wheel , early original 5.50x16 ribbed stones stamped for racing use only on nice 40 ford wheels 7.50x16 firestones out back on 40 ford wheels, early SW gauge panel and gauges . trying to build a race flatty ,but might end up using old faithful outta last years racer ...... these original Henry Ford parts are hard to find and expensive ......its pricey to put together a worthy beach racer , but sooo worth it !!

  26. Potential Racers!!!

Get your cameras ready. Noticed I said cameras, not cell phones.

No cell phone pics, unless you know how to bump up the pixels with a setting.

This is what we need. And I need them now!!! Or very soon...

Photos should be 300 dpi (dots per inch) resolution at the printed. We are printing at about 5" wide in the program, so a photo should be 300dpi at 5" wide.

If you want to be chosen, and your car rules, borrow a nice diggie camera to take a pic of your proposed "racer".

We want, with no exceptions, a clear 3/4 view of the auto or bike. Or it can be a profile, up to you. You may be in the car if you are wearing a vintage helmet.

Note, a 60's sparkle hipster helmet is not acceptable. Show us you goofy head in stead.

Pictures must be free of, vinyl siding or dri-vit. That shit is evil!!! It's like icing on a cake made of poop!

Take a picture with nothing in the background, or a simple object like an old tree, or a field, or some grass, corn cobs, etc.

We want your car to stand out in our program if you should be picked.

Also, while you are at it. Let's see your funny face in a separate picture. With or without vintage helmet.

We are going to include drivers pics in our program. We need a whit back ground only.

  27. In other great Trog news!!!

Hemmings Motor News has signed on to cover the race. There will be monthly updates on the race, on their blog, and most all of their magazines.

Better yet, I have told them about you, the "troglodyte".

I will be selecting racers to speak directly to HMN. They want to know about your auto, you as and individual, and your pilgrimage to the TROG!!! That was in my deep, dark, radio voice!

So take some pretty pictures and send them to me, ...if you have gotten a close thumbs up on your entry.

We have said yes, to nobody!

I will start to announce in the next two weeks leading right up to the race.

Get your motors running!!! Hugs, hombres.
