History The Ramchargers 66 Dart AFX Altered Wheelbase car....Anyone remember it but me?

Love to know what happened to the Ramchargers 1996 Dart 2dr hdtp AFX sedan that they ran in 1966 driven by Jim Thornton of the Ramchargers. Anybody know anything.... Just wonder what happened to the car...and if it may still exist.. Thanks

 

That car came up at one of my Super Stock Reunions. It was either Jim Thornton or Mike Buckel that told me he ran that car off the track (I don't remember where) and into the grass at 160 mph. He said he somehow got it back on the track and stopped without crashing. He said Funny Cars were getting too dangerous for him and it was the last pass he made in a "Ramcharger" car. I wish I could remember which one told me that story. I believe both drove it in '66. Maybe some of the Super Stock thread guys know where the car is if it survived.
