I told my uncle Norm Custer from Lawton, Iowa that I was working on a Model A hotrod and he brought this picture to our July 4th party. This is his car, the real deal, from the early 1960s. What a great shot! Captured for all of us to enjoy.
I'm afraid to ask, but whatever happened to the car? I assume it's long gone if he's showing you pictures of it. -Lee Atomic Radio www.atomicpinup.com
The sad thing is ... he knows exactly where the car is. His story: He was hunting in South Dakota several years ago and came upon an old coupe sitting in a field. He just had to take a closer look and unbelievably, it was the shell of his old Model A. He found the nearest house and talked to the owner. The old man said; You see, this was my son's car when he left for Vietnam. My son never came back so I don't want to sell the car. So, there it sits. Rusting away.
Man that's too bad. I'd go back and explain that it was his car before the guy's son bought it and it would be a great tribute to his son to have your unlce return it to it's former glory.
