Folks Of Interest The Real Von Dutch

There is a video, interview with his ex wife that is also very interesting. Saw it on you tube once.

 

myself and a friend were discussing Kenneth Howard one day in the park when another friend who was sort of eavesdropping leaned over and asked "You know who Von Dutch is?" I said, "Yeah, Kenneth Howard." He then asked "How do you know Kenneth?"… He went on to tell me how Dutch spied him out on a job site where they were both working, pulled him over and spent some time teaching him how to paint lacquer. He had NO idea who "Von Dutch" was to the rest of the world. He was just some "Strange fellow, but a nice guy anyway." He then told me that Kenneth had given him a couple of drawings that were stowed away somewhere in his attic. (sigh)

 

Isn't it funny how many people are just people until you know that they are famous. Then if you are just a person too they are still just people.

 

Those videos were pretty neat...two lunch hours worth!

 

Von Dutch's motorcycle is now at Antique Archeology's (American Pickers) Nashville store. I saw it there last week. The MC was the best thing about the store. Glad I got to see it. I read about it many years ago in one of the car mags, probably Hot Rod. Never thought I would actually see it.
