Finally getting around to getting this pile in queue. I drug this 'ol girl out of a barn/garage in North Carolina a year or so ago.

    red3412-1-24-1.jpg

The car has been squeezed into my garage and my Model A was not a fan.

    red3412-1-24-2.jpg

The fella I got it from rolled it in the garage, torched the floor out of it and realized that once you do that, the car is basically*****ed as the body is only held on by the roof.

    red3412-1-24-4.jpg

At least they installed some sweet 1/4 panels.

    red3412-1-24-5.jpg

Not sure why, the OG 1/4s were cherry.

    red3412-1-24-6.jpg

About the dopiest profile you are ever gonna see.

    red3412-1-24-7.jpg

Here she is, her new home for the next two years or so. This little car is going to be a low budget driver with some sort of engine/transmission and rear end, but exactly what isn't nailed down yet. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

    See ya, -Abone.

Will it remain red? I bet you haven’t used all of the ten gallons from the jug of black paint yet.

Nice! Glad you bought/saved it before the PO hacked any further on the body.
    Looking forward to the build.

So the goal is getting some structure in this floppy pile of*****, so off with the body.

    red341-12-25-1.jpg

Didn't take long as the only thing holding it on were a pair of these screwed into the B-pillar wood and held onto the frame with gravity.

    red341-12-25-2.jpg

The door gap tells you that the roof is the only thing holding it all together.

    red341-12-25-3.jpg

Weld the doors in the hole and start squaring things up.

    red341-12-25-4.jpg

    Nothing structural at the cowl.

    red341-12-25-7.jpg

    Made a pair of these.

    red341-12-25-8.jpg

The very beginnings of the FlamedAbone U-weld-it subrail kit.

    red341-12-25-9.jpg

Now, there is something to attach the B-pillar to.

    red341-12-25-11.jpg

The swoopy part at the rear.

    red341-12-25-10.jpg

My boy helping bead the wheel wells. Hope his long

hair doesn't get caught in the roller.

    red341-12-25-12.jpg

Wheel wells fit right in there, but the whole back of the quarter was made of Bondo and hopes and dreams.

    red341-12-25-13.jpg

Made some panels and beat out a bead.

    red341-12-25-14.jpg

This 1/4 was hammered. bunch of big holes and stretched beyond my ability to repair.

    red341-12-25-15.jpg

Still a bit of hammer and dolly work, but the structural part is good.

    red341-12-25-16.jpg

Here's the whole thing tied together.

    red341-12-25-17.jpg

    Wheel well in,*****ty 1/4 next.

    red341-12-25-18.jpg

Just how they did it back in the day. Rivets, roof flashing and Bondo.

    red341-12-25-19.jpg

This was the easy side for sure. And just like that, the back half of the car is made of metal again.

    red341-12-25-20.jpg

Lots left to do, but at least the body is attached and the doors fit in the hole and shut with "that satisfying click"

    See ya next time.
