I think it ended up in Minnesota last I knew? I’ve seen photos but I bet it’s been over a decade

  2. If you mean the ol' 33 pickup, I sold it to T-man so I could help finance work/parts on my 34 [with 33 front sheetmetal] coupe. Here are photos of both. 33atspeed.jpg 34inshop2_7_22.jpg

There’s some threads about it maybe being in PA but they are old threads ( like twenty years ago) One mentions nerf bars? All the photos are long gone

  4. That's it! I loved that thing!
Do you still have Rocky's Goodtime Van?

Sam, do you have a photo of your rear suspension assembled? You have my attention with the way you used the wishbone.

  6. I only owned it for a few months. I actually borrowed on a line of credit to buy it. When the note was due I decided I needed to concentrate on my Touring project if I was going to ever finish it. I sold it to my buddy Scott with the agreement I got first dibs when he sold it (he is always flipping cars). I drove it a few times over the summer when he had it then it ended up on Ebay. A father/son in Minnesota bought it, fixed a few things but it pretty much looks the same today. See 2nd pic, thats @BenD and Missy checking it out at our fall open house at the old Rod Shop

First pic was shot by @ryan s wife Marcie on the first KC Speed and Power Meet

What happened to the original RR body? Is it sitting in a pile behind a shop in Aridzona?

You should paint a 6 on the new one's side.

  8. The Rocky Goodtime Van [TM] was a unibody and it began rusting underneath so I used it with the g'ment junker buy-out program to get my $4500 buy-out toward a new HHR panel back in '09. Love it but I miss hearing that 350 in the Astro van. Maybe I'll put a v8 in the hhr.

  9. The MN dudes, added real floors, built Nerfs, put a bottom in the bed and got rid of the boat fuel tank. As far as I know they still have it in SE MN. It shows up to BTT50s once in a while. Last pics showed it looking much the same as we know it.

  10. I did this video (see below)
Also, if you go to my Fakebook page Sams_Garage, you can see all of the pictures I have of the RR. Basically, the heim joint bolts onto two tabs welded onto the trans crossmember. Super slick!

  11. I guy ended up buying it and taking it back East. Last I saw he had a frame built, and an aluminum nose, and was putting a 6 cylinder in it. Anyone know him?

    @SamIyam @Malcolm

Nathan Stewart’s 13 1/2 coupe has a similar rear wishbone but it uses what I believe is called a “Johnny joint” I guess they’ve been used in rock buggies for a while so they are plenty beefy.

I’ll see if I can dig up a photo of his set up

I know him.....he lives in West Springfield about 3 or 4 miles from me. I saw the body a couple years ago ....sitting on saw horses surrounded by 3 or 4 other projects....I highly doubt anything will ever get put together - it was still in the same shape and had the same paint.....he told me it was off a "famous" car hehe.....he's a big old dude.....and a pretty nice guy - I've bought some parts off him in the past, and he bought a front axle off me once.

  19. Someone asked me if I was going to try to get the original body back. Honestly, I think I’d rather build a new one. Not that it was THAT bad… it’s just that this version is gonna be a lot more finished off. I would like you know the dimensions of the deck lid and deck lid hole… if you’re ever planning on going by, let me know! He always seemed like a nice guy… but the car is well known to only like 39 people. Hahaha!!

  20. Bruce? Is that you? I think you saw the Bomb Faftory Digger… it was at Bonneville in 2003. Yep… Tim will always have the Model A!

  21. My Tudor rear suspension was done the same way using a large Heim. The Johnny Joints are SUPER nice tho!

This is real complicated. Pay attention. EAT LESS! I know that sounds like a lot, but that's all it took. O use a smaller plate too, and only one helping.

  27. I got the wheels for the ‘26 Roadster all finished. Had the lips polished by Luke in Escalon, I painted the centers gold and mounted the tires myself. I think they’re going to look great with the black shiny paint. I also had to narrow the rear end because the previous 16”ers had more offset than these.
