Proper Road Agents preparations. Add about 200 points of gear for those high winding burnouts. Add some ectra fluid because you know your goin to cook somehting. Rebuild the dizzy to achieve proper 20 degree initial advance curve. Tighten up the shit that will fall off when your doing a crazy smoke show and put on the slicks so as not to waste street tires.

    Well done! Haha.

Thanks for the offer Jim, but I won't be taking any more days off. I've already been pushing the time off from work way too much. If I don't run into any more problems I should make it. Keep your fingers crossed!

If anyone needs a break from scrapbooking, I'm bringing some brownie mix, my easybake oven & the freshly sanitized Twister mat.

FYI the TappanZee will ususally suck on a friday (any time of day) another alternate route would be to take the Merrit Parkway Route 15 (No trailers or "commercial" though) Take the Merrit all the way to 91N and follow that into hartford and get on 84E to x58. You can get on the Merrit after crossing the Tapp. (Or once you get on 91N once you starte getting toward hartford - you can take Route3 over to Route2 West and pickup 84E - this bypasses the 91/84E Interchange in Hartford, which ususally sucks)

Either way you are going to be stuck in traffic somewhere - the Merrit gets a little overflow as it runs parallel to 95 for a good amount of time.

For the guys coming 84 straight across from NY. I would suggest taking 691 to 91N after getting out of Waterbury - this bypasses the 84 Hartford traffic on Friday - which is ususally backed up approx. 10miles into the west hartford/farmington area @ rush hour

There is no real easy way around Waterbury traffic unless you get on some back roads.

OK...tell me the truth.....is it wayyy better to go up the Saw mill Parkway to 84, rather than just do I-95 to New Haven and go up the 91 to the 84......?????

I have always gone the I-95 way, but I am open to trying a new route if you really think it is that much better??? Comments?

    Thanks....Brucie

Been pulling some LONG days out in the driveway to get the coupe back together... MAY not make it with the car. If so, you can bet you ass it's not being driven from NH; maybe it will be dollied or trailered (if I can find one). If it would stop raining every 3 hours I'd be getting more done.

I have the frame pretty much back together (need to paint it... c'mon good weather), almost all chassis components cleaned, primed, and ready to shoot and reassemble. The mill needs a quick clean-up before dropping her back in. Seat, gas tank, windshield need to be installed, firewall finish sanded and painted, body put on and wiring hooked back up to the mill. Then fire, tune, test and start driving to the show with the coupe behind me.. maybe.

If I don't get her there, I'll be pretty disappointed and will probably catch the usual shit for walking though the gates, but at least I gave it a shot. Wish me luck.

  25. JHR, sounds like you have the same limitations as I do in my "driveway " garage. Hang in there and good luck on makin' it!

I would not suggest taking 95 into New Haven - they are doing construction in the New Haven area, and on a Friday it will be hell. If you want to take that route I would Highly suggest taking Route15 (the Merrit, unless you are hauling a trailer) all the way to 91N.

I haven't done the Saw Mill recently, but you will still have Danbury, Waterbury, and (Hartford if you don't take 691 to 91) traffic to deal with.

oh and is there going to be a HAMB meet on friday or saturday?

Arkracing.....thanks for the tip on the 15......looks like it might skirt to the north past most of the larger cities and then it blends right into the 91........won't be pulling a trailer.......thanks for the tip..

You could also run up the Palisades pkwy to the bear mountain bridge, cross over & pick up the saw mill to 84.scenic but long!!
But your best bet is go the tappan Zee( traffic will be bad going out of the city) go on the cross westchester to 684 north!! Take that to 84 east & stay on that thru hartford pick up 384 & as soon as your on 384 roberts ave exit is right there.I traveled across the TZB for 5 yrs when i lived in Rockland cty & worked in Yonkers so you can trust me when i tell ya it'll be a lot less traffic then the GW. When you cross the TZB the exit for 684 north isn't too far.
Merrit is a good road but ya got every huppie in Ct bailing outta work & it comes to a stand still for the whole length.
If you think the way i told you is wrong i'll buy ya a beer at the show!!lol

Uhh - you don't get on 384 coming from the west side of the state to get on Roberts St. It will be your one of the first exits once you get out of Hartford (After the tunnel, you'll see signs for Route2 East) Keep Following 84E it will take a hard left. You will see an exit on the RIGHT for the Commuter Lane. The exit after that is Roberts St.

He may be right about 15 on a Friday Night - but I really wouldn't suggest coming straight through Danbury, Waterbury and then Hartford - you'll seriously want to kill yourself or someone else anyway:D

If you take 684 to 84E I would still suggest 691 after you get out of waterbury and take that to 91N to 84E - when you get on 84E off ramp you'll want to take you second exit for "Silver Lane" I think it is exit 91 on the Charter Oak Interchange - take a slight right and then a left on to Roberts.

be advised that any route you take on a Friday - you WILL run into traffic somewhere.
