I lived in Yonkers for 35 yrs, my ex was from ridgefield,ct.I have relitives in Fishkill, NY I traveled those roads forever,its the easiest way( the way i told ya).Like someone said"Its friday, you will hit traffic" But thru danbury & Hartford its not too bad.95 or 15 runs thru the heart of commuter traffic & yuppies going to the cape.95 is at a standstill from exit 65 to the bourne bridge!!lol

Just another Ct warning.Ive been traveling from the City,NY,to Waterbury CT by way of 684-84 and on FRIDAYS it sucks.GET out of there before 3 man.The last month Fridays were bumper to bumper,took me 6hrs once,and 3-4 hours the other weeks,when its only 1/2 Hour ride up 684 ,1/2 hour to Danbury,and another 1/2 hour to Waterbury. Oh yeh,691 is a good choice.listen to the Ct boys,they know.I never would use 95 from NY or NJ to get to Hartford.95 sucks in Ct.Ask any trucker.


Early afternoon Route through NY by the Gw bridge.1 hr and 1/2 to Waterbury Ct from GW.No commercial m/v- Take the West side highway north,called the Henry Hudson parkway to the Saw Mill pkwy,called 9a north.Take exit 4? for the Cross County expressway West.Bare left on the Hutchinson river parkway North to the end onto 684 North to exit 9e,which is 84E to Ct.You stay on 84E if your early,if peak traffic time take exit for 691 North,should be around exit 28/29.691-91north back to 84E.

Coming from Allentown PA area we are taking the alt route of 476 to 81 to 84... Just going to sit back & enjoy the cruise...

 

Bill.....Stache and I will be leaving South Jersey around 6:30-7 AM......hope to be at the top of NJ by about 9:30......Tappan Zee to Merritt Parkway (15) all the way out to 691, then 91 to 84......and I usually get off at the Main Street exit.......motel is right at the bottom of the off ramp........

What's your Exit # on the Parkway? What are you driving?

In case anyone cares, I'm taking the Mass Pike and then heading south into East Hartford. I took 84 out a couple of times and sat in traffic four HOURS. The Mass Pike gets me there quicker and it's a nicer ride.

I'll be there Friday and Saturday. This is my first Rumble and I'm looking forward to it. Unfortunately I won't have a hot rod there, but I will have my camera, so let me know if you want any pictures of your ride specifically!

Maybe a little rain friday morning, but clearing for the weekend!

 

Yeaaaaaah, Leaving about noonish tomorrow (depending on when the weather breaks) with a 5 to 8 car contingent of trad rods from upstate NY. Attending this show in 04 is what turned me back onto Hotrods, wanted it to be the first show I attended when my build was done. Toiled for 2+ years and finally got my A done in early O6, and what do they do? Cancel the rumble! To say I'm looking forward to it is a giant understatement. See Y'all there.

I didnt get my cadillac done in time, nor my panhead (too busy working on customer bikes), nor my triumph chop (traded it) -- so I'll be riding my stupid police road king down on Sat morning.

But my Boston/Provi collective will be sponsoring the dive and titty bar pub crawl on the ride home Saturday afternoon.

And for the record, Im only going to this event to witness the 80's rock musical selections that Mr. Paras will be providing from the Jerkury. We almost had to fight an angry mob of movie goers at the Alter Boy's show at the drive-in a while back.

 

I'm leaving in like 5 mins. Me and 57JoeFomopar are headin up. If we see any along the way well be sure to wave.

A couple of us are leaving from the Greenwich CT area around 7:00am Saturday morning and going up the Merit to to 91 (I think).
