Got mine at a Barnes & Noble in New York yesterday. They are in the newstands a little early. TRJ office told me a few weeks ago that they wouldn't hit until first week of Sep.
I still don't have my copy (damn post office) and nobody is willing to share the secret. What is up with this place!!!
With as many HAMBer's as there are in it, going to have to tote this around the country getting it signed by all of you giuys! Congrat's Ryan, Kirk, Webb, Jo, Gambino.... and anyone else I missed!
I have several photos of that old '36 Ford when it was still sitting in Frosty's barn... These have never before been seen. They were taken a while back by my dad, on one his visits to Bob's place, at around the time he took her to the Pileup. I remember hearing about how it was a big hit, and that someone had tried to buy it. I couldn't imagine he would sell something this spectacular, but shortly after that, he apparently decided it was time to let it go... BTW, I think the car was missing the fender skirts when he first got the car, and the ones in the photos are just units he found at a swap meet, or something. I am about 80% certain that they didn't come with the car. You'll also notice an interesting tag on the bumper in one of the photos... I would imagine that was something he added along the way, but I'm not sure. Here is a preview: Here is the link to the other photos: http://www.huffreport.com/2008/earlycustom.htm Enjoy
Congrats on the article as it it well written by a gear head for gearheads. I often wonder about the mental ability to reach the reader and this covers the soulfull spiritual aspect as well as the physical aspects, very good read. I, in my younger years had a whimsical idea of doing some freelance work but never pursued it, thank you for your contribution.
Hey Ryan, I just read the 36' article and it was an awesome read, Thanx!! I hope we get the whole story, sure is fascinating!! And Kirk and Alex...... BIG TIME CONGRATS!!! The details in the photography are just superb!! Alright i gotta read some more.......Good stuff!! Ian
Kevin, thanks for posting those pics. I really appreciate it. That's amazing to see the barn pics! Thanks again, John
It didn't end up selling on ebay. If I remember right the auction ended early or it didn't meet the reserve. -John
Steve, thanks so much for the hospitality during the photo shoot. That was a day I'll never forget. Thanks, John
