Morning gang. I had posted a message on the "newbie" area about this, but thought I'd drop it in here too. Although I'm a dedicated hotrod guy, I dig showrods too. Back in 64', Steve Scott built the Uncertain "T". This car won every major event possible, including Indy, the Grand National Roadster Show, and many more. Scott's genious as an engineer on the car was incredible. But, as of 1967, both the car and Scott seemed to fall off the planet. A group of us have been trying to track down his whereabouts and the car for several years, but all leads seem to become a dead end. I've started a site: Yahoo! Groups : Uncertain-T This is a place to post information, pictures of the real car, model cars, etc; related to the Uncertain "T". If any of you would like to post, please feel free to join share your information. Our most current information suggests Steve is in the Vancouver Isle area of Canada. If any of you know any hotrodders in that area, maybe you could see if anyone has any info. Once a car guy, always a car guy, and I can't believe that SOMEONE doesn't know where this guy is!! The grim realization may be that both the car and him are long gone. As Paul Canney recently said, "This guy is the D.B. Cooper of the showrod world!" He just might be.... Thanks for listening.
wasn't there a thread on here a couple years ago about what looked like the remains of the car or possibly a twin outside a body shop in... Vancouver? Paul
From Steve Scott himself - Hi Bill. The H.A.M.B. is an excellent forum, and possibly the largest hot rodding forum in the world. During the time that I "disappeared", from sometime in the late 1960's, until I "reappeared" by setting up this Facebook site for The Uncertain-T and me on November 4, 2012, there were MANY rumors about where the T and I disappeared to, what happened to us, etc. Most of it was wrong... just rumor... including what you asked about, whether I built a second body from metal. The only Uncertain-T body that I ever built was the fibergl*** one that I built starting in March, 1960, when I was a senior in high school. Most of the rumors and confusion have come from the many hot rods that have been built around the country... around the world for that matter... that were influenced by The Uncertain-T. None of them have been "clones", because that means "an exact replica". There are some nice ones, and some rather odd ones. However, I consider every one of them to be a big compliment. Yes, I'm working on a book, but because of the severe headaches that I deal with almost every day, and that when I'm feeling up to it, my priority is working on MY New And Improved Uncertain-T model kit project; it won't be published until sometime middle or end of next year. Thank you again for your very good questions
@daveshuten found the uncertain T. He posted it on his Instagram today. It’s all there and it’s confirmed the original someone posted it to Steve’s Facebook and Steve confirmed it was it and he wouldn’t be part of it.
Not that old haha honestly glad they picked it up. All credit to steve for creating it and all but that dudes nutty... will be neat seeing it at gnrs!
