Spanners, I've lost track of the number of people that I've heard say that "I'd build one ,but". Seems like there's always some excuse. Then again I've been working on our build for over seven years with assorted time outs for medical, financial and other problems, but we are building it and hope to show some major progress this year if I can get my legs working normal and my arse in gear once again. Another good day starting, I got up and I'm looking at the top of the dirt and sky, not dirt and roots.
While I was scrapping the frost off my truck's windows this morning and feeling sorry for bobw, I did a little reflecting on the future of the class. I'm thinking that there are a fair number of "boomers" that are finishing up their working days and looking around for something to do beside hitting a little white ball with a crooked stick. They probably haven't been involved in motor sports for several decades but still have the skills to build something from a pile of steel and a bunch of boneyard parts. I think that what everyone is doing to showcase this type of "funmobile" is exactly what it is going to take to reach them and let them know that they are welcome to come and play. I certainly understand what 64 Dodge 440 is saying about the challenges of life in your golden years but chasing the next dream is what keeps us all going. Revisiting the past is not a bad thing to do.
Amen to that Roy. I may be slowed down but I ain't quitting. Gonna keep flogging on the thing until it's done. I still have a lot of driving to do. 1/4 mile at a time.
What the heck, I might as well put in my two cents. Humble Angelic Godly Racers Yeah, I know, there's a lightning bolt headed my way.
Sometimes a thought hits nearly a year later. These two can be used in sequence ...... Hold my Ale 'n Get Ready Havin' Another Grinnin' Run
Homely Ancient Grouchy Racer What can I say, I'm old and all of the grumpy bits are acting up this morning.
