Hot Rods THE SHOCKER getting final preps for DETROIT AUTORAMA

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by eastcoast57, Feb 11, 2009.

  1. So we (mostly my old man back at the homestead) have been working on a 30/31 a coupe since september....really wanted to represent an early 60s EAST COAST styled show n go hot rod. Love the look of a heavy chanelled unchopped coupe..and have it actually be a painted, full of chrome parts, FINISHED project...no primer..no rats and skulls, no*********...
Valve covers, nerf bar, other parts are still at the secret chrome shop:confused: even i dont know the whereabouts haha but theyll be back in time for the party at Cobo Hall. Big thanks to GARYS HOT RODS and PAINT for kicking**** with the paintjob(and dealing with my lazy****)...RILEY AUTOMOTIVE for the chassiswork, carb kits, and knowledge and LAKESHEADERS for building the awesome set of torque tube headers(bitchin one of a kind work).RICHCRAFT MIKE for the classified chrome help..Bobby******* and the rest of the Sharonville guys... Heres some pics as of now..bringing it out next week to Ohio to finish the****embly.Cool cars and square roll bars for life!Bitch! Other than that, look forward to seeing everyone IN DETROIT..

Love the color! Are the wheels staying white or getting the chrome treatment? Looks awesome man!

  3. OH***** i forgot...

    Cool!

but please, press "enter" between the photos so they stack up, and then I won't have to scroll so far sideways!

  9. It's gunna be a really neat Hemi-Coupe. One little detail, us old east coast guys weren't smart enough to step the front of the frames back in the 50's and 60's. That little detail will be a give away as new built car.

  10. color looks good...the hemi looks outta place...I'll take it off your hands

  21. haha isnt that what the 60s were about?:D
Yes but as far as aesthetics, it wont be too over the top..no bells whistles or model T lanterns....maybe a******** bunny with her legs hanging out the window....HA..

    :)

I have a bamboo interior in one of mine, so I can't talk too much about stepping over the line....but then...I'm a habitual line-stepper! :)

That's pretty cool. I've always fancied unchopped, channeled five windows (especially Deuces). I blame my uncle's old rodding magazines - all East Coast c. 1958.

Car is looking great....the best times and builds are the thrash builds for a big show! Where in Ohio? We have two thrashes going on right now for Detroit....makes it all the more worth while...um, do you have any plans for your mock up painted valve covers?:D
