Pulled the wood from around rear quarter windows and back window in my 30 coupe in preparation for whackin' the top. Thousands of ring-shank nails in seasoned oak -- s-l-o-w going.

I pulled the exhaust manifolds off my 54 Lincoln to have the broken studs taked out at a machine shop, pulled the bad water pump off, and removed the p/s pump to have that fixed while its all apart.

Oh and on a higher note, I painted my dead fathers room and moved stuff around so I feel like its a little different. Lucky me.

Needed some model t rear spring perches. Speedway sells the for $50 shipped. Not a bad deal but I'm cheap! So I broke out the torch, hacked up some 3/8 plate steel and made my own. My arms are still vibrating from all the grinding. I know, I shoulda' just bought 'em but I'm kind of stubborn that way. -stick

I picked up a welder for the first time ever. My dad has a old mig unit, so he bought a spool of wire. I forgot what it is like to have that''new feeling'' in your stomach. Practiced on a piece of plate. Need to get a auto darken mask though, i dont like guessing hah.

I took my dragster out to get it certified. I got 1 "gig" so the sticker waits, but on the bright side the fix is super easy. Not bad for my first time.

Took the '47 for a cruise.

Then took the kids for Ice Creme in the old Rambler convertible. Got to test out the freshly installed disc brakes - about 1000% better. Stops straight - no hints of fade and even with a slightly oversized M/C is still easier to control than the drums were.

Lots of sun to enjoy the old cars with!!!

welded in some more parts of the 55 floorboard (p***) and rear p*** dogleg. One more 3"x4", grinding, sanding and painting the floor then it can go back together.

Sunday was yard day...mulched the beds, fertilized the yard, trimmed the bushes and yanked out a few. This was the "one a year" treatment and I felt it yesterday (monday)

Installed the exhaust ... fresh back from the Jet Hot folks, installed the A/C compressor and the alternator and installed the fuel tank.

Plan on firing the Chevrolet engine up soon as I get my engine fan pulleys back from Advance and install a few things I already have for it. :)

Been working on the picket fence around the front yard. Duplicating my wife's Granny's fence at the homestead farm. Have to hand make the pickets, about 250-300 of them this time, but it looks so good. Some years ago built the same around the sidewalk and front porch(101 pickets that time). Also built a pergola at the side for the jasmine to grow on.
You know the American Dream, a nice little house with a white picket fence, 3 kids, a garden in the back yard(tomatoes, green beans, cu***bers, maybe some okra this time), a 57 Chevy in the driveway and a pile of parts to build a hotrod in the garage.

We got the T-5 bolted up behind the 8BA and slid it back into the ch***is of Flower's roadster. She is finishing the new trans tunnel and once the radiator and exhaust are back on it.......it's ready for a road test. Maybe we'll try it out with a trip to Bob's on Friday afternoon.

I went to about 14 auto parts stores looking for Pennzoil Racing Oil at the urging of the people on oldsmobile1958.com in preparation to get my long-dormant '58 Olds on the road for the Cinematic. Not a single parts-store dude had even head of the 'no phosphates in the oil wiping my flat-tappet cam' issue and I eventually just gave up and bought a couple gallons of straight Pennzoil. If I wipe the cam, I'll pull a 394 out of the junkyard and get this thing going. I was so pissed off by the time my work-week started, I could barely stand it. I hate sitting in traffic. I hate not finding what I need. And I hate auto parts stores. IT's stupid, I finally have money to do all this **** to get this boat sailing and I've been foiled by the ****ing oil change...

I think I finally have something worth adding here. My garage has been occupied by my son's dead '78 Dodge Magnum for the past year or so. We decided to strip everything off of it we could either use or sell and haul off the hulk.
Then we spent some time organizing the garage for our "p*** the torch" project.
Next we snapped a centerline on the floor and pulled out the Folgers ch***is jig. Blocked up the motor, trans and rear, set up the 2 X 3 rails and channeled the body. Pulled the spindles and brakes off a '48 axle to put on the earlier dropped one we're using.
This is what we think is a close mock-up for wheelbase and height, need some rear springs to finalize the kick-up. Hope to be ready to start welding this coming weekend.
Been a busy few days but the work space sure looks better to me.

P.S. excuse the wheels and tires - they're off the donor as in free.
