HOLY SHIT! On SO many levels. Outstanding!

 

AKA '56 Dodge Royal Blue. Do I win a t-shirt for knowing that?. Tenative secondary color on my project car as well, and the trim color on one of my favorite race cars of all time, the Leever & Esser '29, which is what inspired my choice.

The scoops look like those deer whistles you put on the bumper to scare the critters out of the road..

p.s those scoops look like old velocity stacks on a harley albeit modified.

I really dig the roadster and the 265/283 with all the killer old speed stuff looks awesome. The brake scoops look to me like running light mounts for old diesels.

Similar shape, but a lot smaller, and they didn't come from a Harley.

The scoops look like they were made from a fuel pump casting.

Another great Bass road trip story even if it didn't quite have the happy ending you had planned on.
I have no idea or guess as to what the scoop's original job was.

Curious, why you did so much chrome worthy of a show car and didn't finish filling holes in the body and frame and painting shiny?

 

I'll throw my guess in on the scoops, are they aluminum elbows for a turbo, cut and polished?

I suppose that's a fair question.

The car's not done yet. I don't know how much more plainly I can say it.

Did you read the story? This was all done in about 8 weeks, with only a little over 2 of those weeks being devoted solely to this car.

When I get time, I'll address the few issues that are left with the body (and there aren't that many) before I paint it. For now, I'm just going to drive it and work out any bugs. More than likely I'll do the few patch panels it needs on the quarters and wheelwells after the 265 is fixed and ready to go back in.

The original holes in the frame are staying. Why? Because I like them.

I'm beginning to think nobody is going to be able to get it. I actually went onto Google images and found a photo of one of the scoops in its natural environment, so I know there is photographic evidence out there.

 

Arent the old Nicson corvette scoops ? I will try to get a pic if i can find 1 but not am good at this puter stuff...

Maybe there V-drive boat cant pin it but i have sen them before oh well its fun trying
