This is incredible! I've been a big fan of this truck for a long time, but didn't know half of these details about it. Its great to see it created step by step. I ***ume you're planning on running it at the Hot Rod Hill Climb this summer?

I've been watching on IG too. That rear end is a piece of art! I would love to build a rear axle like that! Really cool to see this come together-
    Inspirational work guys!

I like it. I read the article you posted - it says there was no fan, and both front and rear used that exhaust-as-engine mount trick.

I'm hoping you add the fan and figure out a way of putting some sort of mufflers on it - removable - so it could be street driven, not race-only or idling around a car show.

If you flare the ends of the exhaust, could you make a frame-mounted collector to go to some gl*** packs or something? A few bolts to remove - it could use an exhaust donut to mostly seal? With only clamping pressure from below it would leak a bit but keep you from tickets and deafness. And removed it would look 98% like it "did back in the day".

Way back in the 1970s I worked at Roy's Old Car Garage in Mead, Co and Bill Kenz would drop by to talk about the dry lakes days with Roy. Some very interesting conversations about bangers as that is what Roy knew best growing up in S Cal during the 1930s and 1940s. I remember that Bill was building a special banger at that time but have no memory of what it was. One other regret was not going to Denver at his invitation to see his cars. He was a very interesting man. Keep up the good work.
