This is what I started with: When I started building this car, I started by building a frame and suspension. When that was up and rolling that was the first milestone. When the engine and body were mounted it started to look like a car. That was the second milestone for me. Today I reached the third milestone, the last coat of hi-build primer on the last part of the body. A bit of welding left on the frame and exhaust system and I can start putting things together. Painting will have to hold off till spring and warmer weather. Got real lucky today as the weather was +8 degrees C, a real heat wave in this part of the country at this time of year and I took advantage of it. These are some shots of the body today. Another blocking and it can be put away till spring: Just had to share as I felt so good over reaching this point. If you want to see more details on the build of a A coupe with fenders and a nailhead check out the link to my blog on the car.
Thanks pug Glad this step is close to done, at least as much as the weather allows. Doing all the work in a single stall garage and can set up a temp paint booth easy enough but can't keep the air flow warm enough. Oh well back to burning wire and finish up the ch***is. Have decided to change the rear suspension to a 4-bar instead of the 36 radius rod set up. Liked the idea of the radius rods but just a funny feeling in my gut that they might not hold up, just my feeling. Canuck
