This demands that a new Mad Max movie be made. This could be the feature car of the movie

 

I gotta say it again. It’s a shame that someone put all this money and effort into their dream/idea of a custom, only to have it rot and die in field or junkyard…

 

Maybe its just been parked in the guy's yard. He gets to look at it every day. It reminds him of the great creation he actually build, and maybe even has driven around, and the fun times he had with it.
Compare that to how many projects that never got finished and are hiding in a garage, buried under a pile of stuff, never to be seen by anyone.
At least the first guy gets to see it sitting out in the sun every day. As time goes by, it just reminds him how great his life used to be. Good memories can over come natures reclamation process.
Your opinion doesn't matter to him.
