I just looked at your profile and saw that you have a 1937 Mercedes Benz with less than 1600 original miles on it. And a Nazi staff car at that, where in the world did you score that one and lets see the photos of her!!!

    Hi,

No, unfortunately I can't email them from the phone. The phone is actually several years old, out-dated in features, and is probably considered an antique in the cell phone world :) but I've taken good care of it.

I am about to go to sleep for the night, but if someone PM's me a cell phone number I'll get to it in the morning.

He has a photo in his intro post, and if you look at the date on the pic, the timeframe stamp is different then the story.

    Hi,

I posted a photo of her, are they not showing up to everyone? I was wondering why I never received replies yet, LOL. I figured it was because most of the antique cars I own are foreign and most members on here do not like that, lol.

More remarkable facts about my WWII car is that upon removing the interior I found several Nazi trinkits, medals?, coins, stamps, etc. I even have the Chile license plates and all paper work. I was very lucky to come across that car, and even luckier to be able to purchase it. It is a project that is under-way, but I am having trouble finding several key engine components, atleast for an inexpensive price. The engine is a flathead four, and is very similar to model A engines. When I brought the car home, I put the engine block(I have two of the Merc engines) next to a pile of Model A blocks I have and almost couldn't recognize which block I had just put down! I even have the front crank to crank start the car. Even though it is a 1937, it is similar to 1920s Model A's, as Germany was behind us on those type of advancements.

I could go on and on about my collection of cars, but I feel now that it might not be worth my time to do, as no one seems to be interested in hearing what I have to say and would much rather call me a 'punk ass kid' or a 'bullshitter' than say anything remotely intellegent.

I am not sure what you mean by this? The picture is of the car before I purchased it, it is now body off frame and is awaiting restoration when I find the time. The picture I posted is the best one I have that shows the complete car, as now it is in pieces with the interior here at my house, yet car body at storage.

Here are more recent, but still out of date photos. In the one photo it looks like a heap of parts, LOL. I tossed it together as best I could to show someone what it looks like complete, hence the reason I showed the prev owner photo initially, it looks much better than in pieces.

Hi all. I must thank you for giving me motivation to wipe the dust off my digital camera just now :D

So, first things first. I had a very generous fellow PM me his phone # so I can send the photos. You'll see the convertibles sitting in a row with empty tops up. In the other pics you'll see a Fiero that runs on Propane (told you he was nuts) and in the rafters a homade Airplane much like the Wright brother's plane. Also a Cadillac Ranchero type car, and others. Sorry for the poor lighting and quality, like I said its an old cell phone. Next you'll see my 67 Rolls Royce sitting in muck.

So, I decided what would be best to 'prove' I am an honest guy rather than to take a piece of paper, write HAMB, and go out and snap some pics. First, my 37 Grill. As I said the car body isn't at my house so I can't pic that for you. Next, I figured since you didn't believe me about my project 37, that you surely won't believe me abvout my pristine 56, so I whipped the cover up and took some shots. I would take pics of more cars but I have my garage so over-whelmed with stuff in the way that its a mess in there. So these are the only two I could get to at the moment. I have most of them winterized in my garages, under covers. I also took one of the V12 with 34k miles, for those of you who will find some doubt in that aswell.

Anything else I can help you all with or can I get some sleep tonight?

Yes, I do have a lot of cars, a lot..... and as I continue to grow older I'll own a lot more aswell. To the person who says they wish they had my money. I bet I make near the least of anyone on this forum, like I said I am 22 years old and I don't work any kind of special job. I just am very financial savy and a unique person when it comes to value on things. I'm not some punk ass kid.

To those of you who said they'd like to accompany me when I make trips to check up on the old cars sitting, that would be awesome! I know of SO many places, so many cars, atleast 50 places all private with groups of interesting cars within abvout 200-300 mile radius. I am an old car HAWK!!

If I had a dollar for every time someone has said that to me in my life I would be able to buy every car I see. NO, none of what you see belongs to anyone but me. The garage, the home it's attached to, and all belongings inside were bought and paid for by myself and belong solely to myself. My father is an engine builder, a great man, but he has never given me a cent and I am proud and delighted to say that I wouldn't have it any other way. I am a very hard worker who lives very frugally.

Also, contrary to what was said about finding great cars right near me, here is my 1959 Mercedes with 19,000 original miles I found 5 minutes from my home and purchased from the original owner! I regretfully just sold this car to another guy my age, but I was running out of room so some had to go. Check out the dust since 1974. My house was built in 1925, betcha couldn't tell. I love old things refurbished to new.

If you get a chance go to George Poteet's web site and look around at some of his stuff. Just what he has on the drawing board will blow you away much less the stuff that he already has.

No there is no other pics. I wish I would have taken more but like I said I don't want to disrespect the owner, and I didn't bring a real camera. I know of atleast 6 Nomads.... I'll probably check them out this spring like I said. No I will not disclose locations or contact info.

    Six nomads in different locations?

  29. I've met some of those people over the years who are letting a good old car just turn
to junk. They all have some story or some reason for keeping them. I've managed to
buy a couple of those in years past....one they had used as a chicken coop. 49 Chevy
coupe (coop)......man, it took a while to clean all that chicken s**t out of the thing.
    Eventually sold them.

Guess you could call my present car (purchased in 1973) a "barn find" as it was in a
one car garage on the premesis of a small salvage yard, that was filled with other
valuable (to the owner) junk all around the car. I used to simply ask the operators
of the yard if they had what I was looking for. Got a lot of "no's", but the one "yes"
    made it all worthwhile.

I recently located a low mileage, original (repainted once) 63 split window
Corvette in my old hometown. The original owner lived just down the
street from me. He's been gone for many years, and his nephew now
has the car. It sits covered up in a warehouse. He took me back to
look at it....still looks excellent. Don't know what he will do with the
car in the future, but for now he's content to let it sit.

I try to carry my camera at all times......some guys with old cars will let
me take pictures for "my collection", even if they don't want to sell.

I think I would go back to where the "Duesenberg" and "Tucker" were
and take a camera......try for another look-see. Maybe take someone
older along who can relate to the ol guy better. Seems like old timers
like to talk to other old timers sometimes.....they are more on the same
    wavelength.

It's always fun to find a bunch of old cars.....but can be real frustrating
when the owner is not interested in selling. So, just be patient and
follow some of the advice given by the others---it may just pay off.

Thanks for sharing. I bet it was exciting to find that Corvette. I will definitely check back with the Tucker & Deusenberg this coming year, and will bring my camera and ask permission to take pictures.
