Mr Meyer is the current owner/keeper of the flame,of some of Hot Rodding's most cherished historic rides, such as the Doane Spencer roadster, the McGee roadster, the Pierson Bros. coupe, the Frank Mack roadster as well as "The most well known belly tank"plus numerous others. Larry, you could hand over your "HAMB Duece Club,Crown" with the pink slip, since Bruce would be the best"Head of State"to follow your term. Somehow,i could see him getting hooked on this site, now that he's found us. Welcome aboard,Bruce.:D

I think we all knew that car was very special, and followed the build and somehow thought we were part of it. I can't think of a better caretaker for that car, can't wait to see the side by side photos of those cars.

But how do you now build another car, for less money, to a standard you'll be happy with? You have set a pretty high bar.

That 3W is probably worth even more now for having been owned by Bruce Meyer.

Congratulations on the big stamp of approval you've just received. That part must be exciting for you even if you are now walking.

Other than keeping the car, this has to be the best possible outcome. Very cool how it worked out. Congratulations!

WOW! I'll tell you what, I don't get into the Pre-war stuff too much, I'm mainly interested in the early Sixties Super Stockers and A/FXers, but seeing this particular black '32 at the HAMB drags just absolutely stunned me. I couldn't walk away from it. I have messed with and been involved with hot rods for absolutely my entire life and that '32 has to be one of the neatest cars that I have EVER seen. After a hard day of drinking, it actually sobered me up just standing next to it! I mean when you look at it, you just think "What could possibly top this?" .........and the answer is simply"NOTHING!"

I have seen almost all of Bruces cars at different shows in Cali and I think it couldn't be in better hands. It might almost be an honor.

Congrats Larry your 3 window will be hard to top, but you had the vision to put that car together. It will be great to see what you come up with next. Bruce is a fitting keeper of your car.

    What he said.

I wished you had made the Detroit trip with us, but maybe this is why you stayed home...

A couple of photos that a buddy of mine took of your coupe at the HAMB drags the last couple of years.

WOW!!! Congratulations, but I sure am going to miss running into that gorgeous car at the local car shows every now and then. Hopefully, I'll still be running into YOU once in a while. I can't express how much I enjoyed following the build of that car and hearing you talk about it the few times I ran into you. You were always so generous about letting people sit in the car for pictures and answering all of their questions. Thanks for sharing the build in such detail with all of us here on the HAMB. Like just about everyone else, I can't wait to see what you do next. I hope to see you at SK500 (or somewhere) this year.

I congratulated Bruce last night and then got a email from him, he seems really excited about the car,. this is how he ended the email "I love that car and look forward to driving the wheels off !!!, All the best, Bruce":D
I am guessing it is going to pretty much take over the daily driving chores,..
    Way to go Larry !

Well, I'm sure that I can't say anything that everybody else has always said, but congrats. I know it is a bitter-sweet thing, projects like those become part of the family. But, being the Mr Myers chose to purchase your car just serves as a testament to your quality, level of authenticity, and dedication. If somebody with such impeccable taste as Mr. Myers likes your car enough to buy it, that my hats off to you sir.

Like JimA said, who better to buy your car? I say congrats to Bruce Meyer.

    HFS that's a beautiful car.

Larry, I hope you got a Barrett-Jackson price for it. I can't wait to see your next one.

I'm not a rich guy either and usually have to sell cars I don't want to also , but at least WE get to have them for a while . That's a beautiful car and I think a HUGE compliment that it was bought by someone that wants ONLY the best in the world and could afford to buy/have built ANYTHING he wants and chose YOUR'S .

  23. Why didn't you ask him if ya' could buy the Doane Spencer roadster to add to YOUR collection, to be with your 3-window?

Seriously, ya' priced it, he said "sold", end of story. Congrats.
