i decided to tackle to motor mounts. I think they should stand up to the 409, but we will see. Most of the plate is 3/8 and the rest is 1/4. i wanted the motor to sit kind of high so that complicated a few things, but they are coming out pretty good so far. I still need to weld them, and add a wrap-around gusset on the bottom plate.

Cool solid motor mounts. You really don't need that center / middle gusset on the mount unless you are going for 1000hp, but if you like the look it is all good. Also, the good thing about mad over engineering, it leaves a lot of room for upgraded power in the future, but also leaves a lot of room for error in welding or design...etc
    Looks great.

Was that sticking with the steelies on the back or getting rid of the wide fives in front also and running steelies. Was this a particular trick that guys use to do back in the hay day (1940 and up steelies out back, Wide fives in front)? It's pretty cool. Oh and that engine is key. Nice work.

the only reason i have wide fives on the front is the tires were already mounted on them. It will have steelies all the way around. I think the wide fives would look out of place.

Great build. I think that your motor mounts look good, very nice work, which applies to the whole car.

Great Work. Nice car. Awesome motor. I'd give my left testicle for a 409! That was THE engine back when I was in High School. Keep the posts coming. Perley

Note, if the pair of 409's came out of one twin engine boat, one is probably reverse rotation. Oh and the car is tits!
