The T.C.C.A. will be doing shows in the different regional groups, they will be put on by the different car clubs in the area, and will be shows that every one can participate and not get raped at the admision gate.

Great news guys, thanks to Sema and state senetor Johnny Kay, from Arkensas, a state bill was defeated that would have allowed citys to impound inoperable vehicles from inside private properties, under this bill, if the city deemed your vehicle was abanded on your property , they could come right in and haul it away. This bill would have killed the future of our hobby in the state of Arkensas. Again , I can't stress enough the importance of backing up Sema.

  7. If it's on my property and you can't see it from the street, it should be off limits to ANYONE. "BUT" if you're one of those slobs that has eyesore shitboxes that I can see in plain site, and they're fucking up the neighborhood, the city SHOULD take it. You got my blessing on that. Make sense? I'm talking about that jerkoff with 3 foot weeds where his lawn's supposed to be and shitbox turds on jackstands out front of his house for MONTHS

I agree, we should be respectful of our neighbors , and keep our front yards , neet and tidy, but this bill was talking aboat anywhere on their property, including their fenced in back yards, Right now we have a similar problem in San Diego county, The county board of supervisors passed an ordinance that makes it ilegal to store a project car in your back yard, even if it is fenced in, unless it runs and drives or is stored inside your garage, the garage must be atached to your home and have the legal permits, right now the permits run you on an average 30,000 dlls, you can only store something in your back yard that is 3x3x3 ft, unless it is in an aproved garage. This aplies to rural areas and not just citys, this is an ordinance and not a law that was voted on by the state legislators.Other citys and counties in southern California share the same problem, in the old days , the rule of thumb was as long as you kept your stuff out of public view in a fenced in back yard , and kept your weeds trimed, they left you alone, this is no longer the case. Northern california was succesful in repealing these ordinances, it turns out that one of the politicians that passed a similar ordinance, owned several tow truck companys and the storage yards. Several car clubs got together and investigated this, and were succesful in proving conflict of interest , and thus were able to repeal the said ordinance. They talked to other countys and citys , and the old rule of thumb was reinstated. hopefuly we can do the same in southern California.

No, we still have to do a lot of organizational work , but we are getting there , it's best to take our time and do things right so we don't disapoint people, this is a non profit group and we put in as much time as we can in to it, but people have had a very positive response to it, and thats what keeps us motivated.

  15. Miguel,
Wow, this has really blown up and fast, great work everyone!

How do you want to make our logo available for download? I have been getting request for high rez artwork for stickers, patches, etc. I expect you want to centralize each of these through you. Should I pass the artwork to you so you can account for each?

Miguel, we spoke on the phone a couple of weeks ago and I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I have been helping my son with some home improvements on his new house. I didn't think about it at the time but I believe you had called me about joining the TCCA as a member of the Poor Boys CC in Sacramento. I am no longer with them but I do have much more to contribute to this cause. I am part of several car clubs in the Sacramento area that banded together for the same reasons you have started the TCCA.

We got together as a springboard to unify and stand against unfair legislation that affects the traditional auto hobbyist. We believe that the more people (clubs) that are willing to get involved the more the lawmakers are forced to listen to us. We also have a goal to inspire unity, community and accountability between the Sacramento area clubs, giving everyone a voice for the future of the hobby. We represent the Alley Cats, Throttle Queens, Grinders, Lucky Losers, and Los Sagrados as well as a dozen or so "Lone Wolfs".

Some of us have attended a few ACCC meetings and are well aware of what is going on. I have been asked to be a member of the ACCC Legislative Action Group (LAG) for the next year. I say without hesitation that all the members of STAC are behind you 100%. I will get you the info you require as soon as I can.

FYI: The next LAG meeting will be held on Saturday April 30th at Sacramento Vinatge FORD at 10 am. This will be the last physical meeting until mid-October so that everyone can attend their favotite events. We will however keep in touch virally!!!

    Breaking News......
CARB abolition to be considered by Assembly Committee

The unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats at the California Air Resources Board have recently seen their flagship program, California cap and trade, postponed by a judge who ruled that CARB steamed forward with its plans without doing any real research into their harmful effects on working people. CARB even did nothing after it was exposed for promoting diesel regulations that would destroy the trucking industry based on the fraudulent findings of a "researcher" with a phony degree.

In a historic milestone in our fight, a new patriot in our legislature, Assemblyman Tim Donnelly, has introduced a bill to abolish CARB. The Natural Resources Committee has scheduled a hearing to consider AB 1332 on April 25th!

Well I have to go sell some parts, i'll post some more tonight.

  22. Sounds like a great idea. I would gladly help with any Midwest organization. I would gladly offer some website space and upkeep if this area would need it. Anything I can do to help promote via the Symco Shakedown network is also an option.

I am a member of the Vagabonds, but also the promoter of a traditional show. Can I join as an event separate from a club?

Received this email the other day.

    Greetings Historic Vehicle Enthusiasts,

I am contacting you to inform you that I have recently joined the Historic Vehicle Association as Club Relations Manager. As you may know, the role of the HVA is to advocate for the preservation and protection of the historic vehicle community with the overall mission of keeping “Yesterday’s Vehicles on Tomorrow’s Roads”. We at the HVA recognize the crucial role that car clubs play in this effort, as they serve as the social fabric and knowledge base of the historic vehicle community, and we are currently developing programs to better support and promote them.

Due to the many threats facing historic vehicles, legislative advocacy is one of our greatest initiatives. I have attached our most recent press release concerning a bill we are currently tracking in the state of Connecticut. Specifically targeted bills such as this one continue to surface nationwide and pose challenges to our ability to enjoy historic vehicles. Please take a moment to review this bill and, if you are so inclined, visit our Website here for a list of Connecticut legislators and how you can reach them to make your voice heard.

We will continuously strive keep you informed of legislative issues. Please feel free to contact me at any time with additional questions, comments or concerns. Thank you for your support of historic vehicles!

    Kind Regards,

    Matthew Zerilli

Here is the bill Matthew is talking about.

The Connecticut State Legislature is actively considering a bill targeted at collector car owners that would result in a 400% tax increase on the personal property taxes paid for antique vehicles.* This move would raise the personal property tax cap from $500 to $2500 for each registered antique car.* The Historic Vehicle Association, an organization dedicated to protecting the rights of collector car owners and an affiliate of Hagerty, has been working to kill this bill but we need your help.*

The proposed tax increase would apply to registered antique vehicles that are 30 years or older.* If a vehicle is registered as a regular driver and not registered as an antique then no property tax cap would apply and the increase could be even more.

The negative impacts of this proposed tax in HB 5580 are as follows:

This 400% tax increase focuses on one percent of the population potentially causing an antique vehicle owner to pay more vehicle tax than property tax for their home.

This attempt to raise $2 million for local municipalities could potentially cost the state money through deferred registration of antique vehicles where people are tempted to register their cars in other states or sell their antique vehicles outright.

Nationally, antique car owners spend $35 billion each year and donate more than $59 million to charitable organizations.* Connecticut car clubs host hundreds of events each year and support for these events, charities and local business revenue could suffer or completely disappear.* Less antique cars would have a negative overall economic impact in the State of Connecticut.

The Historic Vehicle Association urges everyone to contact Connecticut State Legislators to encourage them to oppose House Bill 5580.* Contact information can be found at www.historicvehicle.org/Help-Stop-CT-Tax-Increase.

The Historic Vehicle Association (HVA) is an organization devoted to all types of vintage vehicles in the United States and Canada founded by Hagerty Insurance—the world’s leading provider of Collector Car Insurance.* The mission of the HVA is to keep Yesterday’s Vehicles on Tomorrow’s Roads by establishing a collaborative, unified platform among the historic vehicle enthusiasts and supporting the various organizations, institutions and activities that enable us to enjoy historic motoring.* For more information, please visit www.historicvehicle.org.*

    For you California supporters:

We want to update you all on the forthcoming ACCC Legislative Conference to be held at the Calif. Auto Museum May 11, 12 & 13th.

The 11th will feature State Legislators and agency speakers in open forum! The 12th will feature a key note speaker who is coming from Michigan and is the Government Legislative Analyist for the Historical Vehicle Assoc. of America This is a national group that keeps tabs legislation & regulations as ACCC does in Cailf. only on a federal level. The speaker, Ms. Carmel Roberts is well known and versed on what's happening in the nationa capital as well as other states. Her talk will be followed by the ACCC's professional lobbyist, Mr. John Roberts. After these speakers. the ACCC will hold an open to all members business meeting where the election of the 2011 officers will be discussed along with proposed changes to the current By Laws, membership, advertising, the website, our new Face Book page and anything the general membership wishes to discuss.
Friday is set aside for "2" tours of private car collections both within the city limits of Sacto.

All this for a conference fee of $35.00 and this fee is for "2" people! Sign up can be done now thru the website!

At our April 30th meeting we will discuss and see what interest there may be in an LAG/ACCC sponsored "Save Our cars" car show in Aug. With the huge success of our spaghetti feed some members have suggested reviving the above car show that was held a few times many years ago!

Again, participation in the LAG meetings is open however hopefully attendees will see the good ACCC does for the hobby & become individual members or convince their car clubs to join.

Since the last LAG meeting ACCC Directors have visited many car clubs throughout the state spreading the word.

We need your help doing that also -- send this to everyone that owns or supports the hobby!

Man , they just keep comming after us, Please car clubs that are in state of Connecticut, contact your state legislators and encourage them to oppose house bill 5580, the contact info. is www.historicvehicle.org/Help-Stop-CT-Tax-Increase. This is a dangerous bill, it seems like the persons who drafted this bill think we are all wealthy, With states and citys in financial ruin, if this bill is passed, it could spread like wild fire to other states, we must help our brothers in Connecticut, it's in the best interest of all of us. Thanks again for posting this and bringing it to our attention, Please let us know if clubs in other states can help out in any way.

A couple of the bills that we will need to keep on top of are SB519 (LaMalfa) which would prohibit a smog technician from conducting an under- the-hood visual inspection as part of a smog check inspection. Also, AB474 (Jones) which would extend the period during which a certificate of compliance or noncompliance is valid for 180 days instead of the current 90 days. The ACCC supports both of these bills.
